I began researching OC just a few months ago after being out and about one July day here in AL exercising my CCW privilege in asuit and tie. (For those of you who live in other places, the only time of the year more uncomfortable than July in AL is August in AL. It is hot, humid, & sticky.) I went into an air conditionedrestaurant to have lunch and wanted desparately to remove my jacket for some additional relief. Alas, I was uninformed about OC. Even ifI had been informed as to its legality, the local LE community frowns upon it. So, here I am, looking to help make OC in AL a common occurence so that I don't have to suffocate in the summer (...and because I believe that all free men should have the right to openly bear arms in defense of themselves without being harrased).

So you say you wereignorantof the legality of OC, and yet you say you still wouldn't have done it (fear of harassment). and still you say you want to help make OC more common.

I do have some advice for you. OC where legally allowed, don't worry about the harassment ( probably less then you would think) and be prepared to educate as many as you can if/when asked the "Why..." question.
