It aint new, morons have been doing this since the vests came out and beer was available.

Sometimes I wonder if those vests shouldn't have retard detectors built in.

It would appear that at least one fo them is a UT student. Austin has plenty of testoserone filled idjits running about.

Probably would have been better if the vest failed. Now this retard will be able to pass on his defective brain cells.

And hopefuly they are to stupid to realize that the vest is now compromised and they try it again.
Freedom is a bit like sex, when your getting it you take it for granted, when you're not you want it bad, other people get mad at you for having it and others want to take it away from you so only they have it.

Can't. We'd have too many vestless cops.

(I did not say that. I did NOT say that. My keyboard did it when I wasn't looking.)
I'll make you an offer: I will argue and fight for all of your rights, if you will do the same for me. That is the only way freedom can work. We have to respect all rights, all the time--and strive to win the rights of the other guy as much as for ourselves.

If I am equal to another, how can I legitimately govern him without his express individual consent?

There is no human being on earth I hate so much I would actually vote to inflict government upon him.

Does the fact that he lived automatically exclude him from the Darwin eligibility?

No, because inevitably, he will eventually do something stupid that will get him killed. We can only hope it happens before he passes on his DNA.

Maybe the guy yelling "Hook 'em, Horns!" at the end was a clue.

Aggies would get drunk and claim they could stop a bullet without a vest, and try it out.

Not quite. The fact that he survived this time means he's not a candidate - but only this time. But as you point out, people who fail to qualify for a Darwin award the first time often resubmit their names over...and over...and over...

Ah, didn't hear that. Maybe just a UT fan.

Actually, death is not the only way to qualify for a Darwin award - according to the book, "The potential winner must therefore render himself deceased, or at least incapable of reproducing."

Of course, odds are, this dude will remove any question of eligibility soon enough. :P

As I understand it, Darwin Award winners "successfully remove themselves from the gene pool" (DEAD).

Runners up are not successful, but still do something nearly as noteworthy, so it appears this clown is merely a runner up until he gets his "ticket punched"...

However, like most of us, as I go through my daily life, I carry something a bit more compact, with a lot less power."

    Clarification added.

Yeah, I got a book of Darwin Awards for my birthday last year. My kid sister and I have a similar sick sense of humor.

Yeah, that kinda looked like New York.

After watching the interview he is just plain dumb. At least he could have left it at being a drunk redneck rather than trying to justify being an idiot. Notice that the bullet did go through the vest.
