An add for "The Duke", a hand-painted, fully sculpted holster and revolver replica inspired by the one John Wayne carried in his classic westerns (see in USA Weekend, for September 25-29.)

This object de fart is offered by the Bradford Exchange.

I looked at it for a few moments, and realized there is something wrong with the image in Sunday's USA weekend magazine advertisement.

    Comments, anyone?

Yep, not only is it a left-handed holster, but the loading gate on the revolver is on the wrong side too.

Somebody mirrored the image and din't think anyone would notice, I suppose.

If it were mirrored, the Duke Badge would be reversed. I have a modest collection of SSAs and noticed the loading gate before it dawned on me it was a left hand rig.

Maybe they only mirrored the revolver and holster, added the image of JWand the star afterwards.. I don't recall ever hearing of anyone making a left handed revolver.

If you've ever watched The Comancheros there's a scene near the end where John Wayne and others are escaping the hideout in a wagon. At one point the Duke is seen firing his Winchester from his left shoulder. Look closer and you'll see the loading gate's on the wrong side of the rifle...flipped image to make Duke's southpaw shooting look more graceful.
