I know I suggested the JT Walk for ALS (Lou Gerhig's Disease) and Grommit Island, but I will actually be attending this event.

It will run from 11:30 AM until 6:30 PM at King Neptune (31st Street) Park and I will be providing sound reinforcement services for the main stage.

Since it is being held at a Virginia Beach PUBLIC PARK it would be an excellent opportunity to exercise 2nd Amendment rights. I plan to OC all day, weather permitting.

There were days when a plastic bag went over the top of my holster. It did not interfere with my draw or ability to hit the target.

BTW - it also kept the leatherwork and steel dry.

stay safe.

Well, it was a good event. I didn't see any unicorns. I wore mine all day - even in the torrential downpour.

It started raining around 10:30 (am) and rained nearly an hour solid. Good, hard rain.

So the 31st street stage is pretty modern and has a great big canopy that the amps and band equipment and lights and PA system were all under... except for the controls and console equipment. We got a tarp over them in plenty of time, but the ground flooded and they sat in nearly three (3) inches of water. Drainage is crap.

Eventually we got a riser (a banquet table laid flat) that got all of the ELECTRICAL WIRES out of the standing water.

And eventually we got a good show off. The only comment on my sidearm was from the drummer for the Fleet Jazz Ensemble who looked at my hip and then looked at me and said "Well, I sure know who not to **** off!"

A VB deputy looked like he was eying me for a minute, but when he walked past he just smiled and nodded.
