I got this random email from him...Anyone else in hisDistrict get one?

You will be pleased to know that as a member of the Congressional Sportsmen's Caucus, I am committed to protecting the Second Amendment rights of responsible, law-abiding gun owners. I was the only member of the Connecticut congressional delegation to sign onto the congressional amicus brief in the case of District of Columbia v. Dick Heller which supported the right of individuals in the District of Columbia to be able to keep firearms in their homes. I believe that this is a fundamental right and was pleased when the United States Supreme Court ruled in favor of Mr. Heller in their landmark legal decision.

I have also supported legislation which seeks to protect the rights of gun owners across the country. I am a strong proponent and co-sponsor of the Veterans Heritage Firearms Act of 2009 (H.R. 442). This bill allows former service members to legally keep firearms collected during wartime as a souvenir and to pass them along to family members. In addition, you may also be interested to know that I was the only member of the Connecticut congressional delegation to support the "Coburn amendment," which allows law abiding gun owners to carry firearms in National Parks and wildlife refuges where permitted by state law. This amendment was added to H. R. 627 which was signed into law by President Barack Obama on May 22, 2009.

    Sincerely,

    JOSEPH COURTNEY

    Member of Congress

Nope, didn't get one, but if it's all true, he sounds like a good person to vote for.

He is still to liberal for me on most other topics. Research before you vote. One issue does not make a candidate. Most every Republican who would run against Courtney would carry the same stance about gun control.

He does deserve asome credit for being somewhat conservative on guns. But, obviously this letter is designedto get conservatives and Republicans to vote for him without consideration of other topics. That should make one suspicious. Another thing to keep aware of, alot of Democrats are scared of what is going on. They are going to be afraid to be called "Democrats like OBama" in coming elections. If you look closely,He doesn't mention which party he belongs to anywhere in the letter. When Bush was President he had the big D after his name on everything. Look on his web page. You will have to search and search to find the term Democrat anywhere. This is happening alot, like they are trying to hide their affiliations.

In the past couple of months, I have received many election ads in the mail. Take a look at the ads you get. Notice how the Democrats are not advertising their party affiliation.

He was voted the "Democrat admired most by Republican's" for whatever that is.

Look closely at his letter. He states,

I was the only member of the Connecticut congressional delegation to sign onto the congressional amicus brief in the case of District of Columbia v. Dick Heller which supported the right of individuals in the District of Columbia to be able to keep firearms in their homes.

Words have meaning, He could have said he supported the rights of individuals to bear arms. He doesn't. He says, "in their homes." While it is something, it is not supporting fundamental rights.

Ya..I don't agree with him on "Health Care Reform" or "Bailouts"..he did vote against the 1st one..but then voted for the others ones....He also co-signed HR 1207, which is Ron Paul's bill to audit the federal reserve...which is good...but I truly don't think he cares much about a strong dollar or 2nd amendment rights to be honest with you...
