so i OC'd all day yesterday, as i do every day of the year.

I went to wal-mart to do some shopping and on the way out a rich NJ lady was getting out of her BMW and noticed my weapon.

She proceeded to stampeed towards me, fists balled and a look of rage *or constipation* in her eyes. She said to me "EXCUSE ME SIR! DO YOU HAVE A PERMIT FOR THAT BIG GUN!?" I politely replied "no maa'm i do not, but in the state of maine a permit is not required to open carry a firearm"

This pissed her off even more and thats where i got "so why in the hell doyou carry it to be cool hmmmm?" yet again i politely and calmly said "i carry it because it is my right, and i like to know that myself and those around me are safe and protected when the police are not available"

and heres the kicker as she was sticking her lefty nose up at me a

nd saying "NO YOU CARRY IT CAUSE YOUR CRAZY!" i was observing over her shoulderthe 17-19yo thug breaking into her nice shiney car! :banghead:

i replied with "how bout you worry about you, and not about me, if you had a gun yourself you could stop that!" pointed in the direction of her car, and walked back to mine.

yuppies! lol

My First Post!

NO YOU CARRY IT CAUSE YOUR CRAZY!

The correct answer is "Now mam, I sincerely doubt that because you're obviously a smart lady, and it wouldn't be very smart to engage in conversation with an armed man whom you believe to be psychopath. Have a nice day." All while doing some kind of crazy facial tic.

Kids breaking into her car? Broad daylight, in Wal-Mart parking lot? Truly? :uhoh: Sounds like the sort of place I'd want to be armed as well.

You couldn't always have replied to her comment about being crazy with this.

"Shhhh. I just killed 8 people an hour ago and I'm trying to up the number to 12. Want to be number 9?".

I kid of course, but her reactions and comments are nuts. A simple hard look at her (to disarm her, so to speak) followed by a slight grin might mix her up. But then, people like that don't really need us to waste any effort explaining things... they're never going to see reality until it bites them (like the attack on her car for example).

How did she respond to that?

lol as i was walking away she yelled "arnt you going to DO SOMETHING!!!!!!!?"

I LOVE it when people have the nerve to insult the heck out of you, act all holy and higher than thou, then beg for your help when its needed, i told her to call the police......maybe they would help lol

but by the time i got to my car, thug had noticed the comotion and disapeared amoung the other vehicles............but i think its funny that her rage and anger towards me for doing nothing wrong, caused her to be so blaitently dumb to her surroundings that she didnt even notice her own lil problem lol

I go through similar encounters from time to time. (Without the car being broken into).

I live within 'weekend commuting' distancefrom New York City (about 4 hours). Yet here, in this rural farming community, firearms are a way of life.

Even though I OC rarely, and almost always on the way to a legal hunging area, Ihavegottenthe strangest looks and stares from the 'downstaters' when they see me OC (especially since they have not even left New York State).

The wildest looks are from the people with New Jersey license plates. It is a look on their faces close to panic. And I'm not doing anything other than pumping gas or loading my kid's hiking gear into the car after a day on the trail.

I have been asked many odd questions, and I have heard many nasty comments.

Did I not read somewhere that Wal-Mart has one of the highest crime rates for parking lots in the nation.. ? To include car-jackings and breakins..?? I don't have the stats in front of me but we should all be careful during the holiday season coming up.

I had someone a while back who showed disdain for my carry habits then chew me out for not jumping into a brawl in front of the complex.. hipocrits..

exactly! morons lolgotta love em lol dime a dozen, most ppl get angry cause we carry a weapon, then get angry when we refuse to use it towards a situation that doesnt warrant a weapons use A.E. someone breaking into someone ELSES car.........or a fist fight..........most laws say firearms are used in defense of ones personal self when infact EQUAL or GREATER force is being used against them....................but all the hipocrits seem to belive we are bad men who carry guns, but then when someone takes a swing at someone else they want us to draw our weapons and get a brandishing charge!

:banghead: morons lol

This is an interesting topic, and I'd like to add my two cents.
You're armed, I'm armed, and most of the people reading and posting here are armed as well. But we go about our business, with a gun on our hip (or wherever we might carry it, concealed or not), for our own self defense, and someimes, if necessary, for the life of others.
My answer to such a scenario as this would be as follows:
Ma'am, are you in any kind of trouble? Do you feel threatened? I am not threatening you, and I do not intend to.
I'm going about my business, as a citizen of these United States, where we have the right to keep and bear arms. I am doing so. If your life is in danger by way of violence, I will do all that is in my power to save you, because I believe in the sanctity of human life. The person or persons, or maybe the rabid dog down the road, who have placed your life in jeopardy, have now placed their own in jeopardy. You are innocent, and I will help you. Do you mind that so much?
Oh, by the way, I see your car is being broken into. Sadly, I'm afraid deadly force is not called for here, nor is it even appropriate. Therefore I cannot stop it with my gun. This is a crime against property, not persons.
Please have a nice day. I'm watching out for you.
Whether you like it or not.

"did you know that if this was 1:00AM and that BG trying to take your cigarettes was actualy a armed rapist, right now i would be the only thing standing between you and him? did that EVER once cross your mind that you may be verbaly attacking one of the only perrsons around equiped to handle a situation like that, but instead you think "hey maybe this guy is a madman thats gonna rape me , my children, my home, my husband and my dog!".....................but instead i just laughed and walked away :-D

one day the lefties will realise most criminals hide their guns :-D

Exactly so, and that's why I don't hide mine.
Thanks for summing it up.
Buncha sheep, they all are.
There'd be the wolves, but for us. On the other hand, maybe the lefties *like* the wolves?
'K... I'm done now. Time to go to choir rehearsal. I'm serious!

Perhaps it may just be better if we let them suffer the consequences of their ignorance and succumb to the will and evil of those who would prey upon them. Why put our own selves in mortal danger to defend those who would rather we not have those very means with which to present a defense?

Just a thought, not a sermon.

As I've said, LOTS of people -- usually liberals, and they arethe majority in America nowadays-- MUST learn the hard way, i.e.,something bad happens to them or theirs...then they MIGHT wake up. Maybe.

Whatever, I'm highly unlikelyto come to their aid. That's why I am not one of those "sheepdogs" some people are so proud to be called: I am not going to help those who refuse to help themselves.

If lots of people (and apparently MOST people) don't want to be armed, let them be the victms they are destined for. Why interfere?

In a way, it works out well: Their numbers are reduced by criminals practicing "natural selection," so less of them are in the gene pool replicating themselves.

Works for me...

well thats taking it a little far, i wouldnt help a rich yuppy and draw my weapon cause some punk stole a pack of marlboros out of her car...............if she has been getting raped or murdered i would have not had a second thought of putting said perp in the ground, 2 in the chest and one in the head.

anyone who carrys and can stand by and watch an innocent person be seriously mamed or killed, is not helping the 2nd amendment cause or the reputation of gun owners!

at that point your just as guilty and moraly wrong as the douchebag commiting the crime, and in alot of states your legaly guilty as well

you really should be ashamed of yourself

Well, I'm not.

So you being the better man, YOU can protect them then.

Good luck,

-- John D.

P.S. If I KNOW the victim is a naive, anti-gun secular humanist socialist "progressive" liberal, then I won't assist. Good riddance. If I do NOT know the victim's "status" -- which would be most cases out there on the street I guess -- I probably would (and I have stated that here before). But I do not OWE anyone protection.

So people who expectOTHERS to protect them and go into harms way -- when they won't do it for themselves, won't take personal responsibility for his/her OWN protection -- they getZERO help from me.

I'm not a cop...it's not my job, and legally speaking, as per courtdecisions, it's not even a cop's job.

Besides, Mainehas more serious problems with nearbyVT going "progressive" and so pro-gay, then NH...and Maine soon to follow -- if it hasn't already. Yuppies are the least of it.
