Interesting....but why is it "disturbing info," skidmark?

Because it suggests that The Virginia Public Safety Center is going to attempt to get their folks to attend the city council meeting for no other purpose than filling the room to the Fire Code capacity so that VCDL members will not get a seat.

We had a taste of that tactic a few years ago at some General Assembly hearings where the Va Tech folks were "escorted" into the hearing room before the doors officially opened, leaving only a few seats and standing room for the rest of the citizenry who wished to either testify or observe the proceedings.

Those who do not learn from history are doomed to standing around watching those who did learn sit in the front seats.

stay safe.

Yes - that was a pretty disgusting display of choosing sides by Marsh.

The good news was that even with those dirty tactics, they lost. We need to make sure that trend continues.

So, you think they're gonna try to fill the place before they let the VCDLers in?

How are the VPSCers going to get into the place ahead of the VCDLers?

Unless, you're suggesting that the GA administratives are going to treat the VPSCers the same as the VTers and let them in first. Is that it?

Something about your "disturbing" reaction and history lesson doesn't make sense, SM....

Can the VCDLers and OCDOers not simply get there first?

By George, I think he's got it!

Every public meeting room has a back entrance for use by the bigwigs. At the GAB the Va Tech contingent was let in via the back door while the public entrance door remained shut.

While I have no notion that "GA administratives" will be at a Norfolk city council meeting, I do believe, based on prior conduct by that body and the likes of VPSC, that a similar move may be afoot. Thus the warning, so that, as you so eloquently put it, "[] the VCDLers and OCDOers... simply get there first".

The question is - which group has the better ability to organize a grassroots constituency? VCDL with almost no fund expenditure or VPSC with assistance from the entire socialist Left, the unions (but I repeat myself) and fellow travellers?

stay safe.

Does anyone want to meet up before hand for a quick bite to eat or snack prior to the 7:00 meeting? I plan on being in the area by 5:30 or so...

Remember, we (a bunch of us) are planning to go over to Waterside afterwards.

Here's hoping BMWAG (pbuh) will show up and fill us in on his life since the last Waterside after-meeting.

stay safe.

I plan on going out afterwords as well to the OC dinner. Just was wondering if anyone wanted to burn some time before the meeting.

See ya there.

I know I'm new posting here, but I've been reading for a while and I help out the VCDL at the gun shows sometimes so I may know some of you.

Anyway, is there any chance I can hitch a ride to this?

I took the day off work so I'm available whenever and I live in Newport News on the Yorktown border right off J Clyde Morris.

I can get myself there if I have to but I've been having car problems and I'd rather not drive it that far if I can help it.

I hurt my foot at the Deeds Rally. I will not be there tonight. The Norfolk Police were very professional at the rally, not bothering KimberCarrier or I even though they knew we were carrying.

If possible, I would ask that one of the speakers at Norfolk's City Council meeting tonight give a tip of the hat to Norfolk PD for their professionalism this afternoon.

WTKR just had a story on the city council meeting.

Opened with the camera focusing on Bubba Ron...

Played a clip on Philip Van Cleave speaking...

Showed some ninny babbling about common sense, and commented that the mayor still spouted the gun grabbers' BS line.

Good to see everyone again.

We made the 11:00pm news (WTKR) as "Gunfight at City Hall". I guess it's a good thing we brought guns...

The newscaster said that VCDL would be going after the "...7 Va mayors who were members of MAIG..." which agrees with the MAIG website.

On to Portsmouth!!

PS: In response to MAIG's stand on background checks keeping guns out of the hands of the mentally ill, I offer this: Why did Lizzie Borden use an axe? Guns abounded in 1892, and there were no background checks...(Yes , I know she was acquitted.)

Good to see everyone tonight.

There was a question on membership of the group of Mayor's. Norfolk's Mayor mentioned that VB was also a member of the group. Looking at the MAIG website, neither the current VB Mayor (Sessoms) or the past Mayor are mentioned.

As previously discussed, only 7 Mayors in Virginia are members, and only two of those (Norfolk and Portsmouth) are from the Hampton Roads area.

Well, the end result of last night was about what I expected. When I posted about this stuff back in August, I had commented that Fraim was not likely to be one of those mayors that would drop out because he didn't realize it was an anti-gun group, because his past history has shown him to be very opposed to non-LEO gun possession.

I was there last night, and I'll be at the Portsmouth meeting as well, whenever that is. But I also doubt that anything we do will be more than a symbolic gesture. Fraim hates gun owners and the Portsmouth mayor is just bats##t crazy.

Thanks to all of you who made it out to support and defend our fundamental rights.

I apologize that I could not be there in person. I was certainly there in spirit.

God bless.

Changing the mayor's mind and heart was not expected. Getting message out before the public was the goal - mission accomplished, one inch at a time.

Had an interesting conversation with a visiting NJ LEO leaving the dinner after. He was :what: to see OC but quite interested in our laws, even supportive.

BTW - Norfolk's "blue line" was muuuuch better this time - no problems at council meeting or at Waterside.

Yep. The Norfolk PD I saw at City Hall and at waterside noted we were there and continued on about their business paying us little to no attention.

Reviewing the site more recently, it appears that there are now thirteen (13) treasonous rights-infringers holding mayoral office in Virginia.

Is anyone attending tonight's Council meeting in Virginia Beach? I am trying to make it.
