Bad idea... impersonating a LEO.....cowboy would work though...
Anything I post may be my opinion and not the law... you are responsible to do your own verification.

Impersonating a LEO to any degree (armed) is a BAD (and mostly illegal) idea.

That's kinda what I figured. Perhaps I could go a military theme, maybe some BDU's, boots and open carry.

Nah, you may be mistaken for Border Patrol and the locals would not like it too well. Though, if you were BP you'd still be in your jurisdiction.

Last year I wore my thigh holster with 1911, long rifle across my back, a hoodie, and carried my bible.

I was a bitter small towner clinging to guns and religion.

I was considering wearing black BDUs bloused in my black combat boots with a white undershirt and bulletproof vest. I hadn't decided on whether to OC or not, but it doesn't matter since I'm working that night.

I work security on the north side (aka the ghetto) - that's why. :P Thankfully it's an armed position.

11 or 12 years ago I dressed up as Wyatt Earp.I had (and still have) a long black oilskin duster, black leather vest, cowboy boots and hat. I had a western gun belt that I stuffed with a very hard to find realistic looking toy six gun. Then I went bar hopping. I had a couple people come up and ask if the gun was real. One of them actually said it didn't matter to them whether it was or not. I wonder if I can count that as an open carry experience??

A friend wants to go as a old style western sheriff and needs a single six shooter rig (holster/belt). He is in the Lansing area and could travel a bit to pick it up.

Anyone have one in this surrounding area he could borrow?

Uh... 'loaning operable firearms to someone you don't know ain't a real good idea.
