Now that california can't buy ammo, you would think there would be more
on the shelves for the rest of us.
At 1 50 round box a month for a store, 1 tuckload will last the state for
a year minimum.

So where is all the leftovers they used to buy hiding?

No I don't feel sorry for them, they elected the 'terminator', they forgot
he was a bad machine first, and had to be brainwashed into being good.

I had to wait a couple months, but I finally got a shipment (about a week ago) of 250 rounds of .38 Special + Ps loaded with Hornady 110 grain FTX hollow points. You can still get ammo in California, but I've heard recent rumors that one may have to register it, if pending legislation passes. Of course, small time criminals and convicted felons are exempt from such ridiculous regulations; they just ignore them and rob or burglarize honest citizens. So, always pack your piece and shoot them before they get that, too. :banghead::banghead::banghead:

My local gun store has always stocked ammo, just at ridiculous prices. The other 'big box' stores are starting to load the shelves a little more every time I go in.

I got disgusted with trying to find 9mm so started reloading, haven't looked back.

I know you were joking, I guess, but you're aware that

A: the law doesn't go into effect until 2011 or some such

and

B: it won't actually reduce ammo sales, it will just piss us off as we buy our ammo, or make us reload (whereby we'll still be buying "your" brass :p)

You're also aware, I presume, that CGF is going to have the online sales aspect of law overturned as it violates federal common carrier laws, and Californians will thus continue buying as much ammo online as ever before?

Now that you're aware of these facts, I wonder what the hell the point of this thread was?

Also, I'd like to point out that you now officially support socialism in the form of government redistribution of ammo from California to elsewhere. :p

Honestly, the law is @#$%ing stupid, but no less so is the incessant "OMG thumbprinting = ammo ban!" baloney. If this were true, we'd already have a gun ban in CA, as we already have to give a thumbprint. Hell, we'd already have a driving ban, as we have to give a thumbprint there as well.

I mean seriously, where do you get this crap from? It's a dumb law, but your remarks are just as dumb.

No really, explain to me how you get from "thumbprinting" to "ammo ban".

Really, I don't see what's so funny about it. Plenty of people own guns in San Francisco. Why is it important for you to have guns, but it's just a "walking punchline" when a Californian does it?

And gayness has nothing to do with it. Plenty of gay people own guns.

You're a walking punchline. You should be used to it.

That seems pretty uncalled for. You have an issue with gay people?

Ammo is now plentiful around here. Cabelas actually has a full stock of 9mm and 7.62x39 for the first time in a year. Now all I'm waiting for is prices to come down.

Not really a problem for me! Then again, I make my own ammo.

+1 for Cabela's

- That was the only place i could find .45 Colt. Drove 20 miles to get it, but hey... i got it. Walmart and others have good selection of common rounds too. would be nice if the prices would start going back down to normal, i'd buy more.

Stopped in a Walmart in eastern California and found .40 SW, but they would only sell me two boxes. I asked if I could buy 2 boxes of that and 2 of some 12 gauge. She said no. only two boxes....in 24 hours...new company policy.

greetings comrade! thanks you for supporting socialism in my state! :cuss::banghead:
My range's owner lets me pick up all the brass i want :monkey

and i got the shipping days of all the Walmarts, and sporting good stores written down and try to be there right when they open on that day, i may have to run around alot to get my ammo, but my stockpile reflects my work.

anyone notice .22 long rifle is one of the worst types of ammo to find? (it is for me at least)

I don't think anybody actually believes what any local store employee says about company policy.
