I don't respect either. I respect my country and its constitution. I'll respect the president when he respects the constitution.

That said, it's kind of interesting to note on that map that all the college towns didn't go blue this time...hmmm....

I just heard that Obama was watching basketball last night instead of the election results.

I don't believe it.

That's just spin so he can state that these do not reflect on his popularity, even though he traveled to NJ many times to stump for the D, and threw his support behind Deeds (I got 4 emails yesterday from the representatives of Mr. Hope & Change pushing for Deeds).

His currency is tanking faster than the dollar, as it should.

NOVA is full of transplants who unfortunately tend to beDemocrat's employed in some way by the government. Not to say that all of these people are Dems, but in my experience most are. Although I wasn't born here (because my father is x military) I'm proud to say, tonight especially, that I'm a patriotic VA minuteman who's values encompass those of our forefathers and our newly elected state government. Now, don't mess up!
Now you are the type we don't mind coming into Virginia and making this your state. It's the "transplants", as you referred to them, that come here and want to remake Virginia into something resembling their former states, and countries, that we don't like. It would be the same as me moving to Martha's Vineyard and expecting them to take on Southern traditions.

This is all how it should have happened; it's just too bad we're not going to get the 23rd district in New York to complete the picture. Still, this will send out a message to the house for next year's mid-term elections that we are not to be tread upon. The administration and congress were hoping that the 9/12'ers would be a flash in the pan and by Christmas, they would lose interest. While there is always the chance some will lose that "fire in the belly" for the cause, rest assured that ObaMao will continue to do stupid things to keep us energized for next year's elections.

So the best thing which could happen for us is a huge sweep of both houses as in '94 but even more powerful. This would effectively tie the white house assh---.. err, idiot's hands and make him a lame duck president for the second two years of his first and only term in office. So it's tantamount that we all keep this going and do in November 2010 what we just did yesterday. Send the anti-Americans back where they came from with reminders that the only good socialist is the one that lays on the ground and doesn't breathe.

While the news this morning is grand, we must remember 2 things..

The won/loss percentage was only like 55/45 +/- in most of the elections. There were no landslides.

Only 40% of the voting public showed up to vote. That leaves 60% strong that needs to be swayed and obviously given a bus ticket to their polling place.

Man, in my house district (41) here in Burke, the Republican is being shown as the loser by only 208 votes to the incumbent Democrat. This is a district that didn't even put up aRepublicanChallenger in the last election and got beat pretty badly the time before that. The Challenger was a 100% VCDL endorsed candidate too. Maybe we can get a recount on this one.

Also, does anyone know when the special election for the 37th State Senate seat will be held? This is also my district and the seat formerly held by our Attorney General-elect Ken Cuccinelli. Support and turnout will be HUGE in this election. It is important that we keep people fired-up and readyto vote again.

Some of you may already know that Steve Hunt is looking to be the Republican candidate in the 37th district, and I believe he will make the best possiblereplacement for Ken. He will have at least one other Republican Challenger, so again, every bit ofturnout and support will be critical in this upcoming election.

Alright! Now I'm not ashamed to say I live in Fairfax. :)

I would love to join you but...

Ken T. Cuccinelli 47.73%
Stephen C. Shannon 52.15%

Kens replacement might be blue, i hope who ever it is is very pro gun like Ken is.

William T. "Bill" Bolling 48.43%
Jody M. Wagner 51.48%

Had it gone red on everything i would be much happier.

Those are still pretty close numbers when you are talking about the whole county. If you were to take out places like Falls Church, Vienna,Annandale and the other darker blue areas I think I would be a lot different. The areas that make up the 37th district are very competitive right now. I hate to start sounding like a political shill, but we need to get ready towork really hard to support Steve Hunt's bid forKen's former seat. He will be every bit as pro-gun as Ken, and turnout in a special election is critical.

Huh?

Thanks NakedShoplifter,

GLOCK27 what are you talking about? Fairfax, went RED by over 3000 votes.
Not at the time I looked at the interim results, but I happily stand corrected. Although 51% to 49% ain't nothing to be proud of with such a low turnout.

What's "low" to you? The turnouts look about average, though just slightly (~5%) lower than the last two gubernatorial elections.

True, but I thought that with all that's going on, folks would be more engaged than usual, even though these were not congressional races.

Nah, everyone's burnt-out from the 2008 election. They're like "What? There's another election already?" :banghead:
