MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. - A Michigan judge says a man who claims he was chased, shot and beaten by workers at a store he'd just robbed can sue the men. But only if he comes up with $10,000 within two weeks.

Scott T. Zielinski is serving an 8-year prison sentence after being convicted of unarmed robbery for the November 2007 heist at Nick's Party Stop in Clinton Township.

The 23-year-old filed a lawsuit against the store, its owner and three employees in April. Zielinski was shot twice and claims he was excessively beaten.

Circuit Judge David Viviano ruled this week that although Zielinski is indigent and imprisoned, he must post a $10,000 bond to cover the store and employees' attorneys fees if he loses the case.

Zielinski is seeking $125,000.

Is anyone really that shocked?

Nope... not really. It's truly sad.

Maybe schools should start educating kids about the problems in America, rather then what is so great about it. Perhaps things like this could be prevented if children weren't brainwashed in the public school systems.

I'm surprised the ACLU or some other liberal org hasnt joined in calling it a hate crime by the store.
+1.

By MI Law, aggression and/or fear of imminent death/great bodily harm ended when the perp ran out of the store. Unfortunately, he probably does have a case against them.

I have heard of someone successfully suing a business owner for getting burned during an attepted arson becuase exit signs had burned out lighting.

he admitted to trying to burn down the building after robbing it, he could not find the exit soon enough after lighting the fire and the business owner was found to be liable.

Imagine that!!!
