All you have to do is wander around the 2A and firearms boards and you can see that there really is a rise. Too bad that these groups are not expending more effort ongetting like minded individuals to the polls and getting things back on track instead of hoping for the government to collapse. Alot of wasted effort...

They should all unite and become the Defenders of the Constitution. Create such a movement throughout this country that the legislators will be shaking in their shoes thinking a tsunami is on its way.

Nobody I know is hoping for the government to collapse, they are just preparing for a collapse in case that eventshould ever take place.

Big difference!

Yep. Preparation does not give much stature as defender of the faith status quo.

If all of these fringe groups were defenders of the Constitution, they may be able to do some good. Instead, the more vocal groups are refusing to do anything constructive so that a collapse does not take place and any preparations are only for this scenerio where they fantasize about an armed overthrow of whomever is in power. Statements to the effect that "we have gone too far" and "there is no hope" or "time topress the reset button" are not productive.

So long as there are still free elections, there is still hope. Any talk of removing (by force) those in office who have been lawfully elected is talk of hoping for a collapse or wanting to cause a collapse themselves. If today, a group were to rise up against the government in protest of who is in power, they would be spanked back into place. Every day Americans would defend our government against these domestic terrorists.....

Most of the vocal "militias" are full of nut jobs and are not acting in the true sense of a Constitutional Militia. It is pretty difficult to findone which is pure.... Are you aware of any??

The Wikipedia returned 1,214 hits on "constitutional militia".

This one, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Constitutional_militia_movement, does not contain "usc" or "code" but does mention
1. Training in combat scenarios and weaponry skills in mock actions and maneuvers.
2. Has an identifiable territory in which members reside.
3. Bases organization philosophies on anti-government rhetoric.
4. Development of contingency plans in case of governmental provocation.
and
1. The Open Constitutionalist, with the Cascade Brigade as an example.
2. Constitutionalist/Command Structure, with the Alabama Constitutional Militia and the Michigan Militia as examples.
3. Constitutionalist/Cell Structure, with the Militia of Montana and the Texas Constitutional Militia as examples.
4. Underground/ No Public Contact, with the Sons of Liberty (Alabama) as example

The State Guard may bear arms only when authorized by the Governor. This is primarily the case because if the state were to organize an armed combat force not under federal command it could potentially be seen as a rebellion or uprising.
Because there is little potential for the SC Guard to be seen as rebellious it's a good place to find the benighted status quo statists.

They, the "Vocal Militia's" I would gather probably don't think that they are nut jobs, they think there are True Blue Americans, standing up for their rights & preparing for the worst that the Corrupt American Gobernemnt is planning on dishing out to them in the possible near future. I think it's also safe to assume that they also feel that their eyes are wide open to the realities of the downward spiral of the American way of life & the slow but sure chiseling away of their god given rights. Unlike most of us here, they the "vocal militia" have the fortitude to say whats on their minds, while at all times knowing that even though they have the freedom of speech / ok at least they once had it , the DHS/NSA/FBI/ATFE could at any times come down on them , raid their homes with no knock warrants at 3 am while their wife & kids are sleeping, have MP5's stuck in their faces , have their Dogs shot in front of them, get carted off to jail indefenatly , be accused of being a domestic terrorist's , not get legal council & be he held indefinately.....or maybe they are just angry that their taxes are going up , up & up, or maybe they feel that the current Communist Socialist administration is slowly taking over this country that once they swore to protect from ALL enemies both foreign and domestic, most of them " the vocal" militia - served in the military at one time. or maybe they are just bored & like to dress up and play army once a month.. so is your idea of a pure Militia right & their's wrong ? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder & opinions are like buttholes, everyone has them .:)

Well who do you know who actually thinks of himself as a nutjob? (Besides me, since I freely admit it?)
That's my point. People call us various names because they think WE are nut jobs for walking around stores carrying guns ( doing something that is perfecly legal ) Yet some call the Militia people nut jobs because they are sick of our corrupt anti freedom Gobernment & speak out ( & also thats perfectly legal )....There are LOT'S of Militia Organizations ALL over the USA, but how often do they do something bad worthy of being on TV ? almost never, once every 5-10 years ? The Posse comatatus in the early 80's, The freemen in the Mid 80's, Oklahoma City Bombing rejects of the Michigan Militia & randy weaver's afiliation with the white power organizations in the early 90's. otherwise all quiet on the western front.

I bet The British called these guys nut jobs.......Thank God for nut jobs...

Although our current Gobernment is now becoming like what the British were, tyrannical & Greedy, what do you get for this..fewer & fewer rights ( Just look at how they are going to ram Obamacare down our sheeple throats.. More & More Taxation with Corrupt, Greedy & virtually non existent representation. How long will it go on before the vocal Nutjobs let something else do the speaking for them ? NO, I don't belong to any Militia, them people get their names on various lists by various 3 lettered Nazi like gobernment offices.

Naw, it's too far gone to fix. Wipe the slate clean, start all over.
Allow the 50 states the opportunity to go it alone.

Nutczak, now you can say you DO know of one person wishing for collapse of the government: me.

If they would stick to protesting and education while stocking up on rations should the SHTF, they would have more credibility. The fact is that we still have free elections. They should get off of their butts and get involved in politics instead of pointing fingers and dictating what "the government" should do. We are the government. We the people elected everyone who is in office.

I took a vow to protect against all enemies both foreign and domestic. It is offensive to me that anyone would suggest that it is a good idea to forcefully overtake the government which would suggest that they would wish to appoint someone to power. That there would be indirect violation of the US Constitution. The very thing that they wish to pick and choose what articles and amendments they wish to recognize while ignoring others.

Abuses by individuals whether they are in the FBI, CIA or your local PD need to be addressed at the appropriate levels, not by overthrowing the entire government and Balkanizing the country.

If they believe an individual elected officialto be acting out of line then they should have the balls and ambition to address that individual and get them out of office through legal means instead of fantasizing about a Civil War.
