possible meet up in the Deal's Gap area

I will be visiting the Deal's Gap Tennessee area, this is just a short hop over to North Carolina, and if possible I would like to meet a few fellow members in the area.

That's US-129 right?

I thought "Deal's Gap" was on the NC side of the border. But you did say the area.

Anyway, keep us posted of what you work out. I love the mountains and wouldn't mind a nice peaceful drive up their to meet up with you all. Any places for us to go shoot up there? I realize that may be a dumb question for extreme western NC/eastern TN but I do have to ask.

I was going to be up that way right after thanksgiving, I have been told by most of my friends who ride motorcycles that I have to ride the "Tail of the Dragon" and the other roads in that area.

I will be armed and would like to meet up with someone from the area, and if we can find a range it would be nice to send a few downrange. I have also posted this in the Tennessee forum to see if I would get any takers there, so far none.

Well, meet up or not, you should definitely drive/ride the Tail of the Dragon. It doesn't really matter which end you start from. Just watch out for LEO's as there are many of them (mostly on the Tennessee side since the largest part of the TotD is in TN and Deals Gap is on the NC side. Be very careful, especially if you're going to ride amotorcycle on it. This weather may present less peope up there and more true riders. Also, please, PLEASE, be mindful of any tractor-trailers trying to make their way down that highway. It is a no access highway. There are no intersections, nothing. It is just approximately 10 or 11 miles of complete foolishness, that is if there are not LEO's around to ruin your day.
