Many know I do armed security and I have a duty belt that is less then comfortable for my long shifts. I currently have a level II Serpa holster for my XDm, and I was looking at leg holsters and came across this cheaper alternative for a leg holster. It is exactly like their other leg holsters, but with out the Serpa holster. It saves me a ton of money over all. So instead of 89-200 bucks for their leg holster I got the platform for 45 Bucks.

So I spent extra saved cash on the rail system for it and a spare magazine pouch. So mine will look and operate like the ones below but no where near the cost.

You're going to find out that this rig is FAR more uncomfortable than any duty belt rig you have ever worn...but you'll look really TACTICOOL while being uncomfortable.

I wore it today for my 9 hour shift and I find it so much more comfortable then when I had it on my belt. Considering I have a Level 4 vest I wear and it was difficult to have my side arm on my hip. I wore one very similar for my M9 when I was deployed and it work out great for me. Well I know for sure tomorrow after my 12 hour shift. I am not wearing it to look cool, I wear it because my body armor makes it hard to draw my weapon and on certain sights I carry my AR-15.

do you wear an OTV with plates? if so then i can accept you need the thigh rig :) Been there and worn those before, i went ahead and had it placed on my vest, so if ya get bored with a thigh rig, id check into that.

Coudnt get used to the thigh rig because I was the driver and it usually managed to hurt like hell and get snagged routinely.

Best of luck to you in anything your doing. remember bleeders first, then airway

Never understood the mags being on the same leg as the gun. You either have to reach across or switch which hand you're holding your gun.
It is mainly used that way because a handgun is a backup weapon and should never be used as a primary when you have the option to use a rifle or shotgun as a primary. The leg holster saves you much needed room on your Mollie system. I carry a AR as my primary weapon on many sites I work and the mag on the leg holster is not my primary mag holster for my pistol. God forbid I am in a position where I am unable to get to my pistol mags on my hip or when I am on back. With practice you can get a pistol mag out of a leg holster quicker when on your back, side, or wearing bulking body armor for example.

Do you have a picture of all your gear? Itsounds pretty interesting, and what kind of security do you do? (You don't have to answer that if you aren't comfortable/at will to do so) :D

Sure not a problem. It looked like my post was not very popular with many people. I do a variety of security work, from protecting workers at several fast food joints that have been robbed in the past in Youngstown to escort duty's for HVP's. I did recently a job escorting a jeweler around a expo in plain cloths concealed which I prefer. Some jobs pay like crap and others pay well. Each and every job I go armed to the teeth if possible. Most guards you see have a high point or worse with walmart grade gear. Hard to respect anyone in this bussiness who do not take pride in their work or safety. MY goal is to make sure everyone is able to go home safely and to dispatch any threats with force if necessary.

I have found when I wear gear similar to what I have worn when I was active military I feel a hell of a lot safer and operate better. That and the ghetto scum I deal with most days straighten up a lot more and say very little around me. Verses other guards I run into and work with get laughed at and people do not respect their authority even though we have a lot more then many think. My partner and I treat all jobs extremely professional and have a extreme maturity that others do not bring, and clients are desperate for this and not a armchair commando.

We are not rambo but with my combat experience and my partners 10+ years NYPD experience we do not mess around with any verbal threats or physical threats. Many guards treat this like there is no threat of life and kid around instead of doing what our clients hired us for. You can tell experienced guards from guards who you would never want protecting your gold fish much less your life.

Great pictures. That's a cool looking rig, and it looks quite functional, if unpopular. I take it you like how it works with your duty rig?
Extremely happy with its performance.

I own the same exact rig for my glock 20. Do you know if the paddle accessory Blackhawk sells is compatible with these rigs?? Thanks in advance.
I originally had my serpa on a paddle system and decide to order this mount instead. All you do is unscrew the three screws on the back of the serpa holster and then reattach it to the paddle accessory. If you want to make sure send blackhawk a email and they will tell you for sure.
