It was nearly a year ago that I had an exchange of letters and a face-to-face meeting with the County Executive about the sign painted on the entry doors at the County Building at 311 Main Street. This was prompted when I had to check my OCweapon and was asked for a CPL. The sign said "No weapons permitted" and cited RCW 9.41.300. I took exception to this and thought I had persuaded the County Exec. that there is a difference between OC and CC, and he even acknowledged that I was right. I was asking him to do two things: (1) instruct the screeners not to ask for CPL for OC weapons, and (2) change the sign on the front door.
This morning I went thereto (what else?) renew my CPL, and noted the sign on the door had NOT been changed! I was so sure they would do this that I never followed up. I don't know if the screeners are still asking for CPL because I wasn't going to the courts part of the bldg.
None of this ever comes easy ......
