After leading police on a high speed chase through Milwaukee, Wauwatosa, and Brookfield, a suspect pulled over in Menomonee Falls and ran away.

According to scanner traffic, the suspect was driving a stolen vehicle. A news release from the Milwaukee Police Department said the incident started when police went to 88th and Hadley about 7:10 p.m. because of a report of a "suspicious vehicle." When police attempted to stop the driver, the chase began.

The high-speed chase traveled west on Capitol Drive through Milwaukee, Wauwatosa, and Brookfield before going north into Menomonee Falls. According to scanner traffic, the chase reached speeds of 100 miles per hour.

In Menomonee Falls, the driver pulled over near the intersection of Main and Madison. The driver and a passenger got out of the van and ran away. Police arrested the passenger but the driver escaped. According to scanner traffic, the driver is likely carrying a gun.

In a media release Sunday night, the Milwaukee Police Department said a witness saw the driver get into a different car and leave the area before additional officers arrived. Based on that witness information, Milwaukee Police said they did not believe there was any danger to the community in Menomonee Falls.
