My wife and I were going to attend a 02:50 pm showing this afternoon. We had paid for our tickets and had entered the theater and given them to the ticket taker who directed us to our theater. We ran into some friends in the lobby and were standing there chatting when approached by an employee. Standing some distance from me and in a loud voice, I was told that firearms are not allowed in the theater. He told me that he was sorry for the inconveniencebut I should not have been sold a ticket or allowed to enter. I told him that I would require my money back. He gave me what I would describe as an odd look and then directed me to go to the ticket booth for my refund. Guess he thought I would just go put it in the car. When I got to the ticket booth he was telling the ticket gal to refund my tickets. She then shoved a form to me telling me that she would need my name and address. I simply told her to just give me my money which she did with no further delay.
I checked the ticket booth and the doors/windows and saw no signs anywhere stating no firearms allowed.
One of the funny things was that the couple we were talking to in the lobby were armed, CC, and had just finished watching their movie. We stood outside in front of the entrance talking with our friends for about 15 minutes without so much as a sideways look from anyone else.
I will be writing to the management of the chain to voice my complaint and will post their reply if I indeed get one.
