OCd at Burger King in Louisburg on Bicket blvd yesterday there was a campus police officer talking with another person the kid probably 20 years old in front of me asked me if i was a deputy I said no and began to explain to him about open carry when 4 Sheriff deputy's walked in with 2 Louisburg police dept LEO's it was then i noticed the other guy looked like state trooper sitting eating.MY first thought was oh here it goes and nothing only one short look from the younger Police officer rookie i think was surprised none of them said anything as i continued educating the young guy who was asking me questions about OCing and what time cal. of gun and so forth.I left there and went to Walgreens to pick up some stuff all this time with my 10yr old daughter i had just walked in and down one isle when i turned and saw yet another Louisburg LEO nothing but a short glance.BY the way Walgreens in louisburg OC friendly my wife works there (Heather) and will be happy to help you if you need something she is the photo specialist. All in all very uneventful but hopefully if there are other people in my area thinking of OCing they will feel better knowing they won't get jacked with.Fight for your rights OC as often as you can.

hey, just went to a Tea Party / second Amendment meeting in Pilot Mtn. tonight. the speakers were the Surry county sheriff and the stokes county sheriff. i live in Surry so i was a little appointed at Atikson. he used a lot of hyperbole. he said things like i will not be coming after your guns , then turned right around and said he would obey the federal laws. i don't know if he was confused or not. another thing he said was he did not want anyone armed in schools. he said he didn't like the idea of someone shooting up the place and endangering the innocent. which goes to show what he thinks of people. he said that if his son was in a school that was attacked he would not want someone to stop the shooter. i couldn't take it so i hollered you would want someone like me to be between the shooter and you son.

Sheriff Marshall was a bit better. he said that the constitution was what we went by and he didn't care what they said in Washington. he said it is peoples right to bear arms. he wants armed people in the schools weather they be teachers or SRO

got to talk to the Surry county commissioners. they have good sense, and we talked a little bit about carry in the county park. one said they go by state law. i said that was good to know

OH. had a deputy from Forsyth there and he was very supportive about RTKBA shall not be infringe. he was not a guest speaker, but he got a standing Ovation. sharp guy i hope to hear more from him

Re: OC experience reports

I accompanied my GF and her daughter to Target in downtown Charlotte on Sunday after church. My Kahr TP45 rode on my hip. Other than some wide-eyed stares from a teenaged boy at the customer service desk, there were no issues. I'm not even sure the rent-a-cop noticed that I was carrying.

Fat-fingered from my Samsung Galaxy TAB2...

Im a native of rockingham county and i open carry nearly every time i leave the house. I have never had an issue here and have found local law enforcement, especially the sheriff's dept., to be very 2nd amendment friendly.

Open carried in the Wal-Mart in Matthews today with my daughter. I wore my XD9 on my hip with my NRA T-shirt. I walked to the sports section and tried to get some ammo but they where sold out. A older gentleman walked up to me and pat my back. "Young man i want to shake your hand. I love your t-shirt and what a gorgeous daughter."

I carry to this wal-mart numerous times with no issues and always positive reactions. I even had a security officer ask me how often I go to the range.

No offense, but you let a stranger get close enough to pat you on the back?

Yes, I saw him beside the counter scoping the ammo as well. I had situational awareness when I carry / do not carry. Just because because you carry a firearm doesn't mean everyone has cooties. :p

What's the issue with someone touching me on the back?

See the LA forums for the incident at a food store. If you feel safe letting someone get that close that you do not know in the long run you have to live with the consequences. I am an older gentleman and I would NEVER EVER touch a stranger. They would have every right to take appropriate action if I did.

Indeed I too value my personal space - its hard to cover your six, takes lots of practice to build the skill - good peripheral vision helps.

We were in the Spring Lake Walmart around 12:30PM and saw two other Open Carriers as we were leaving. That makes three in Walmart at the same time period. Usually it is rare that I see anyone OCing anymore so that brought a smile to my face.

Open carry yesterday at IDEAL Sportsmen gun store and then at REPENT Firearms (Class III) gun store in Concord.

Followed that with a really nice dinner (still open carry) at Parkway House Family Restaurant on Union Street in Concord. I got a couple of nervous glances from the elderly couple seated at the next table but all of the girls working in the restaurant were very pleasant and full of smiles. The lasagna was outstanding and big enough for two meals.

OC'd in Greensboro yesterday, to wal-mart to check for ammo, my FFL, to pick up my shiny new Stag arms lower receiver, and then to Lowes Foods for a grocery run. Had a pleasant conversation with another guy (mid twenties ish) at the ammo desk. He said something about wanting to get a permit to carry, so I kindly educated him on what you do and do not need permitwise to carry in NC. Got a "Yeah, Open Carry" yell arcoss the parking lot leaving Lowes from 2 guys, put a smile on my face haha. No problems to report, other than my family's disapproval and remarks about how I "Don't need to carry", and "You'll get charged with inciting a riot or something".

Went to Barnes Supply (a farm supply store) on 9th street in Durham. I've been there a number of times carrying, no problemos. The kid who carried the feed out to my truck for me asked if I was a cop and I simply said no. He then commented that he was wondering because I was packing heat. That's the first time anyone has said that to me and I thought it was kind of funny.

I should have handed him a flyer...

We buy our feed from a local feed store, don't ya have to love in this day and age a business that still carries your purchases to your vehicle. We never get any reaction from being armed while there, but then it is a feed store.

Both of the stores I buy my feed from could care less about my pistol and both carry and load everything to my truck!

Another week, another incident-free OC experience. Walmart, home Depot, Kroger, Taco Bell, McDonalds, Southern States (CH), Dicks, and Denny's (Cary).
