I have never been to Alaska, but I wouldfind it hard to believethatThe Alaska State Troopers would knowingly violate 4th and 5th Amendment Rights, especially seeing as to how pro-Firearm Alaska really is, even when compared to... let's say... Washington, which is more pro-Firearm then some other States.
I doubt that Wyoming would implement aLaw which requires the disclosure of rather or not you have a Firearm to a Law Enforcement Officer, but that is the mess that you find yourself in, most times, when you implement aConcealed Carry Permit system.
Instead the Wyoming State Legislature should repeal its Concealed Carry permit system, and instead, optfor Alaska/Vermont-carry without any need to disclose as to rather or notone is carrying a Firearm or has one in their own Vehicle.
Running a Serial Number on a Firearmwithout any probable cause to believe that the Firearm has been, is, or will be usedfor a Crime, without any Warrant signed under oath or affirmation from a Judge of compentent Jurisdiciton, is, indeed Unlawful Search and Seizure. Law Enforcement Officers should not just act under a Hunch, but rather Reasonable Articulable Suspicion. Merely seeing a Firearm, is not in and of itself a Crime, especially in Wyoming, and placing any further requiremnets on any United States Citizen is upsurd.
