This is a little story I happened to come upon. Hopefully this can be a good reminder that although someone might be doing something bad, they aren't a bad person. Use judgment before pulling the trigger.

With one quick google search I can find dozens of places in New York City that someone needing food to feed their family can go to and obtain free grocieries.

It was simply a matter of the robber not thinking about his options before deciding on the "quick and easy" route of robbing a store.

No excuse for anyone to have to rob someone in order to eat in the U.S.

    +1

There are places in every town that are willing to feed people in need. None of them require you to break the law or potentially end up dead for your meal.

In New York it's law that no-one goes without food or shelter.....yet you have to not be drunk or on drugs...

I guess you choose what is more important to you..
I am not anti Cop I am just pro Citizen.

    U.S. v. Minker, 350 US 179, at page 187
"Because of what appears to be a lawful command on the surface, many citizens, because
of their respect for what only appears to be a law, are cunningly coerced into waiving their
    rights, due to ignorance." (Paraphrased)

Well it's quite different if the person is in tears isn't it, you tell them that if they need help they should just ask for it instead of taking it clearly this case is the exception not the rule.
