Correct.When the government is in fear of bieng overthrown by another country they will do anything to prevent that, including arming the populace. But when the threat is eliminated the armed populace becomes the perceived threat.

Sounds like the interest owed on the guns they dumped would equal a total disarmament of their military, secret services, and police firearms officers, and transfer back to us. I wouldn't mind a HK G36.Would the Brits send us guns if we needed them?
