Wow, this seems to be happening more and more in the Omaha area.

5 arrested in violent home invasion

Five men were arrested by Douglas County Sheriff's Office investigators after a violent home invasion Sunday afternoon in west Omaha.

A 33-year-old man was sitting in his apartment just after 1:30 p.m. near 144th Street and West Maple Road when three men walked into the unlocked apartment with guns. The victim of the home invasion was pistol-whipped by one of the men. He did not require medical attention.

The three took electronics equipment from the man and fled the apartment, said Sgt. Eric Sellers of the Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff's investigators in an unmarked car saw men who fit the victim's description riding in a Cadillac. The driver of the Cadillac sped away and the investigators lost the suspects for a short while.

The Cadillac collided with another vehicle near 83rd Street and Bedford Avenue, and five men, all 17- and 18-years-old, were arrested on suspicion of robbery. Investigators found stolen items in the Cadillac. No one was injured in the collision.

The victim of the home invasion was brought to the scene and identified the three he said robbed him.

Becoming more frequent in the Green Bay, WI area too. a few of them scum bags need to have their brains splattered , then maybe they would get the point, break into someones home and you might die. Justice is a loaded double barreled 12 gauge.

Home Invasions are on the rise in NC too. You'd think that these thugs would realize that in a state like NC, they run a pretty high chance of being met with the business end of a firearm. But as far as I know, only a few of the home invasion robberies have been met with force by the homeowners.

normally they wait until your gone, not all the time......we need a new federal law that covers all 50 states. if you break into someones home , the homeowner has the right to kill you dead , the homeowner won't go to jail or be processed & the dead scum bags family will not be able to sue you. I know something like this exists in most states and it's called the castle doctrine. My law, would put the fear of god into would be thieves & violent criminals. .

South Carolina's Attorney General (next previous to the current) ended home invasions for his tenure. He committed to not prosecuting a home owner that defended with deadly force.

There may have been some instances when the housebreaker was blown back through the door that he had just kicked apart.

I acquired my 870 Evil Black Shotgun (refurbished by Wilson Combat Arms and furnished by ATR) at about that time.

The right to common law self-defense.

That's what 'castle doctrine' laws are all about, privilege and presumption, but without uninfringed OC you are free only in a 'castle' and then only as free as the particular statute allows.

The NRA represents the status quo and will sell you your right to carry.

Either we are equal or we are not. Good people ought to be armed where they will, with wits and guns and the truth. NRA KMA$$ God damn the Obamination

You know that my dot.sig is not directed at you but at the lurkers in this 'national' forum.

I think it was a year ago , that a Green Bay Packer, had to defend himself against a Home invasion , he used a bed post :?.......guy makes a million a year and can't afford a gun.

GREEN BAY, Wis.— Green Bay Packers running back Noah Herron thwarted a would-be burglar by hitting him with a bed post during a break-in at his home.
Brown County Sheriff Dennis Kocken said Tuesday that the break-in happened late last Friday and the injured the intruder remained hospitalized but is expected to recover.
"Noah Herron used necessary, reasonable and justifiable force in protecting his life and property," Kocken said in a statement. "Herron, the victim in this random home invasion, is cooperating with law enforcement."
Herron, 26, missed all of last season with a knee injury.
Chief Deputy John Gossage said Herron called police at 11:19 p.m. Friday after he heard glass breaking in the lower level of his suburban Green Bay home. He said an unknown number of people had entered the house.
One of the intruders entered Herron's bedroom, and Herron hit the person with a post he had unscrewed from his bed, Gossage said. Herron was not injured.
The injured burglar was taken to a hospital, and a second suspect was arrested outside the home, Gossage said.
Stolen property and a vehicle believed taken earlier Friday from another home were found near Herron's home, Gossage said. The two people in custody are suspects in numerous burglaries and home invasions throughout Brown County, he said.
Pittsburgh took Herron in the seventh round of the 2005 draft out of Northwestern. The Packers signed him off the Steelers' practice squad in 2005.
Packers general manager Ted Thompson released a statement Tuesday, saying the team knew about the break-in and had no comment.

The only publicized home invasion that I can currently remember around here is when a rookie cop decided to shoot 6-7teenagers with his police issued AR variantwhile they were watching Movies and eating pizza. (Crandon WI) He was jealous that his GF left him, she was one of the people he murdered that evening.

The typicalhome robberies occur in unoccupied vacation homes, (at least 50% of the homes in this area are part-time residences)

I can honestly say I do not know one single person that is a full time resident in this area that does not own a gun!

Edited for spelling

I agree, that was horrible & I agree I don't think the Police can be trusted with guns, tasers, batons, pepper spray, they abuse these every chance they get........& certainly they should have their Assault weapons taken away.

And he was a REAL man--4 of the 7 victims were female, ranging in age from 14-18.

A real credit to his shield.

The only good thing about that story is that it had my favorite ending for such dirtbags:

"And then he turned the gun on himself."
If only stories like this started AND ended with that line (and didn't have all the other horrible parts), the world would be a MUCH better place...

It's nearing Christmas and the crooks are expecting to find recently purchased Christmas items, to steal.

Expect a rise in car breakins and parking lot muggings at shoping centers, as well.

Dear Moderators: This post is NOT cop- bashing. I'm just reporting the facts...

LEO's commit mass murder and spousal murder more than ANY other single occupation.

There's actually an entire website devoted to documenting this phenomenon:

http://behindthebluewall.blogspot.com/

and it goes on and on and on, all over the world. This is not unique to the USA...
