A while back I was asking around trying to decide betwen an AK-47 or AR-15. Just couldn't decide, so we got both :celebrate

And not a minute too soon given certain recent events. Picked up the AR this weekend, havn't had a chance to go shoot it yet. Picked up the AK a couple of weeks ago. Cleaned up & refinished the furniture myself, pretty happy with how it turned out. AK is a basic cheapo WASR, AR is a DPMS Sportical with a Barksa red dot. And the Hi-Point is our previous "assault weapon" :banghead:

Those high points are about the goofiest lookingfreakazoid of a rifle, How do you like it? I was thinking of getting one just because it's about all I could afford. Wheres the mag, and how many shots is it, it is 9MM right? No accessories, right?

The HiPoint carbine, I will agree without contestation, is an ugly freakin' gun. But it's a hoot to shoot. About the most tactically useless gun I own but great for plinking, probably as economical as a 22 if you reload. It'll be the designated "coon gun" when we have enough land to pop the lil buggers without scaring the neighbors. The mag goes in the grip just like a pistol, ten rounds, it actually uses pretty much the same blowback action as our other HPs. 9mm, available in a 40s&w but those are hard to find. And supposedly there's a .45 being released "soon" but they've been saying that for years. New ones are also available with a funky love-it-or-hate-it stock. No accessories on this one, but they're out there. It came with a weaver-type rail that replaces the rear peep sight so you can add a scope or whatever. And the new stock has extra rails for attaching all sorts of useless tacticool doodads that cost more than the gun its self. With the right bullet in a nice hot handload it could probably take down small game easily, maybe even deer at great need. Great little plinker for the money, my wife loves it.

I OC my AR-15 sometimes, if it warrants it. (To/from range. I ain't leaving that in my truck! :p)

And I always have the bolt locked to the rear like a good sheeple.

If not for the proposed ban, I wouldn't own an AR-15 or be shopping for an AK-47. I cant' thank the sponsors of this bill enough ;)

If I could quickly sell a few large chainsaw carvings, I'd upgrade the cash into an AR-10 as well.
