Retired military and LEO. Under Article 14 USC 89 of the USC, the USCG is both a military service and a federal law enforcement agency. Was a small arms instructor and competitive shooter for 19 out of my 23 years in the CG. I still teach at the range when asked. Daughter # 1 is an OCer and daughter # 3 is a competitive smallbore shooter.

Worked on ordnance from 76mm water-cooled cannon, 25mm Chain gun, .50 cal MG and small MG's including M60 (straight and "D" model) and M240B;Other small arms like rifles pistols and shotguns, too. Ammunition and pyrotechnics and associate required paperwork (what a PITA). Any other "Ordies" out there remember doing ATR's with Check-Sum-Digit?

One of my 1st cousins is a USCGA graduate with about 19 years active duty and is on the next Captain's list.

Maybe a jarhead can correct me, but I thought you had to make it through the crucible before you earned the title Marine.

New in town

Former detention center guard, and former electronic surveillance of probationer/parolees. Current law junkie. Liberal (doesn't matter, a politician is still a politician - you can't put lipstick on a pig and make it "better"), strong supporter of America, its peoples, and what we stand for as a whole, supporter of gun rights.

Look forward to reading some posts.

My Dad and a former BIL were both 82nd Airborne. My dad was originally 2nd Armor.

Me, I wanted to go Marines, but ended up going into LE later.
