Wow, I thought that is why they used the term "alleged."

A friggin quasi home invasion. Sounds like someone at the police department perhaps should not be playing spokesperson.

At least the media did not seem to jump to conclusions and crucify the homeowners.

Yea. I fear the subliminal implications can be more damaging to the casual reader though.

The home invasion may have been an attempt by the father and his son to locate an 11-year old member of their family they believed was being held inside of the home. It turns out that the 11 year old was found nearby enjoying himself at a party of friends home:

Some people are dumb who knows what was running through everyone's head.

Mistaken address or not, that was a home invasion.

Masked, they perpetrated a home invasion and committed aggravated battery upon the residents therein. The mistaken address aspect may be true but has no bearing on the felonious actions taken by the offending invaders. It would have been a forcible felony whether at the correct address or not; their intentions remain the same.

The use of deadly force was clearly an option to the home owners under Illinois law and the circumstances being reported by the press.

Interestingly enough, the most recent news stories dropped the "masked men" aspect of the story as someone pointed out in the comments of the various news stories. I wonder where that all came from. They could have been masked or initial reports could have gotten misconstrued... or the media could have gotten it wrong in the first place.

But as I said and what you all have said, it is still a home invasion, perhaps all one big misunderstanding. If that is the case, a 49 year old father and his 15 year old son better be glad they didn't end up dead.

OK, so it sounds like what we have here is a botched vigilanty covert rescue extraction operation.

Failure to conduct proper forward recon and relying on bad intel will cause this every time.

I am sick of hearing this. Almost all the democrat and republican politicians believed WMD were in Iraq. Bush acted on the intelligence. Saddam's generals admit transfering them to Syria but the mainstream news media doesn't want to retract their comments so the lie continues to be spouted. I hope you are simply ignorant of the (below) facts and not complicit in the lies.

Also after this transfer Israel bombed a Syrian nuclear plant. Hmmm I wonder where they got the yellow cake & the scientists from?

It was a joke but I don't trust Human Events or American Thinker any further than any other media or news outlet.

I understand the joke but most people still don't know the full story because the mainstream media is so $%^&*( liberal. Perhaps you would believe the paragon of virtue, CBS (even though Dan Rather used forged documents to try to throw a presidential election).

The removal of 550 metric tons of "yellowcake" - the seed material for higher-grade nuclear enrichment - was a significant step toward closing the books on Saddam's nuclear legacy.
:
The yellowcake wasn't the only dangerous item removed from Tuwaitha.
:
The yellowcake was the last major stockpile from Saddam's nuclear efforts, but years of final cleanup is ahead for Tuwaitha and other smaller sites.

Your joke/analogy would only be true if the kid they were searching for was forcefully taken to the next house on the block to be hidden from view, while the homeowner pleaded ignorance.

Didn't you get the memo?
They rewrote history.
Bush was wrong and stupid and should have known better.
It's less complicated that way.

Sigh, headed for a thread lock...

But some of us knew Bush Jr. was a sociopath feigned-ignorant, devil worshipping (pretending to be a born-again Christian) sack of crap since the early days of his presidential campaign. And we think it's rewriting history to downgrade him to an average joe or retard. You don't get to be president without a sharp mind and with your soul still intact.

I've said it before and I've said it again. George W. Bush was a genius, and should win every acting award in existence for his lifetime achievements.
