There is a serious matter that I thinks everyoner should be aware of. I listen to the radio very carefully, and I am hearing a alarming number of peoplein my State calling for Secession because of the present administration.

The regular violation of the US Constitution by the Federal Government is becoming an issue here, and the people here are not willing to let this go. They feel that the only way the renegade Federal government will listen is if they threaten, with a willingness to carry out, severe measures to guard the basic rights we are guaranteed by the Constitution.

Ideas? Comments?

Really?

I pay very close attention to all forms of media, both national and local. I haven't heard a single person that I would take seriously or with any authoritybring up the topic of secession in the recent past, much less "an alarming number" of people.

Are you sure this is a movement or is it just one local radio show you listen to?

Citations?

Oh here we go again.

A few people in South Carolina have been talking about secession ever since the end of the U.S. Civil War.

Nothing new and for anyone to claim that the present administration is so bad that secession is necessary was apparently born only last year as they completely missed the erosion of rights and disregard for the Constitution under the previous administration, all to make us feel safer.

The secessionist movement in South Carolina is not a popular movement. If you want ot see a state with a large amount of people that have been wanting secession, go to Vermont.

If I remember correctly, the past admin. had a Dem majority the last 2 years. Answer this question. Why is this current administration so quick to give enemy combatants that arent even from here consitutional rights, but want to throw away everything our constition stands for.If you dont believe me just look at what this Clinton bag wants to do with the UN in regards with the "small arms treaty" Yes people this new admin is NO friend of this country. If we dont wake up we will be in for the "planned agenda" You can go drink your koolaid in your new socialist country. I wont.

This topic pops up frequently with most OP's having a VERY low post count and never state their location in their profiles.

Most are Agent Provocateurs....

The longer I live in NC, the more I believe that the SC government is populated by wingnuts, perverts, scumbags and a$$holes--even MORE so than is generally found in State government.

Their Governor is an embezzler, philanderer, and a sociopathic liar. State agencies often fail to comply with FOIA law. They still have laws on the books making fornication, adultery, buggery, and sodomy arrestable crimes. And on top of it all, OC is not legal in SC.

If SC decided to secede, it might actually make the South a much more free, honest, and intelligent place... ;)

Why would you need to succeed? We are pretty far away from all of that. States are just starting to assert the 9th and 10th amendments. Why would you recommend a war that could kill over a million Americans when we are just getting started with the reassertion of the constitution by States? We have a duty to avoid that until there is no option. I used to think a war might be in my lifetime, but as I've become a little more educated on the politics occurring in VA I'm thinking maybe it won't.

I think this country will be OK

As for your first sentence, I am not trying to make a joke or belittle in anyway, but it reminded me of something:

Ever see the movie The Second Civil War?

A civil war started over the mis-statement of the words secession and succession. It was a bit of a scary thought but the movie made for good satire.
