I am flying down to Arizona to pick up a truck that I bought. I will be bringing my CZ SP01 with me. To avoid the peoples republic of California (and to see Vegas), I will be traveling through Nevada. I am 22, an active duty Marine and have a CPL through Washington. What are Nevada laws like in regards to OC CC and vehicle carry?

First off IANAL. From what I know you can have your loaded firearm anywhere in your vehicle. I just recommend NOT sitting on it, just in case some overzealous cop wants to hem you up on some charges. Nevada doesn't honor your Washington cpl. So I wouldn't CC if I was you. But you can pretty much OC anywhere. Although a casino can ask you to leave. OC is allowed on the strip but you run the chance of harassed by Las Vegas' finest. :quirky

Just ask Timf343. Even though he is not a lawyer. He is about the most versed on the laws on the Nevada board.

Edit: left out a NOT. Sorry about that.

If his CC is no good here then he shouldnt sit on it in the car. It can be loaded anywhere in the car BUT not concealed on your person. A cop may say sitting on it is CC. Put it in a center console or glove box or on the seat next you.

Sitting on the firearm isn't technically CC. You may not conceal the gun ON your person, but sitting on it is technically concealing it WITH your person. I believe this is no different than placing it in the glove box as the gun is not actually ON you.

Nevada does not recognize the Washington CPL. Carrying concealed upon your person would therefore be illegal. However, your gun can be loaded and carried openly upon your person most places.

The pamphlet on this thread has some more detailed information:
