When: 9AM-5PM, April 19th, 2010 (monday)
Where: Ft. Hunt National Park, Northern VA
What: "Restore the Constitution" rally/ Muster Outside D.C.
Details: Staging area will be Ft. Hunt National Park, located about 12 miles south of DC. Participants will gather there, and a speaking program will be provided. From there, participants will have the opportunity to travel in small convoys up to Gravelly Point Park so they can "step up to the edge." Gravelly Point Park is right on the Potomac, about a mile from the National Mall in DC.
So the Second Amendment protects all the others, right? Now how exactly does that work in the real world beyond the simplicity of catch phrases and bumper stickers?
The US Constitution's limitations on the size and scope of government have been ignored and violated for some time. This is true in regards to the right to bear arms, property rights, the commerce clause, the proper role of taxation, what is or is not legitimate government spending, as well as other issues. The situation we now face is one of unlimited government, and this is unacceptable.
Instead of just complaing about it and having your complaints fall on deaf ears, why not take the opportunity to get out there and really make a statement that will be impossible to ignore and will put Washington, DC on notice?
The "Restore the Constitution" rally will have that simple message which encompasses the root of so many problems. It will be held on April 19th of 2010, the anniversary of the first shot of the American Revolutionary War. Although the exact location is not yet 100% certain, the event will be held at a firearms carry-legal location as close to Washington, DC as possible. This could be as close as the George Washington Memorial Parkway National Park in VA which is just across the Potomac from DC, and only 1.5 miles from the National Mall.
For updates on the event, most important of which will be the exact location, see the site below and follow it:

I know this will be held the same day as the Second Amendment March in DC, but, if we are able to get the GW Pkwy location, we will be right across the river from the 2A march in DC, so some people may be able to attend both. The participants at the 2A rally in DC will be part of the "target audience" of the RTC event. The short term goal of the RTC event will be to demonstrate to "fence sitters" that, yes, in fact, it can be done. The goal is to create conditions such that we could possibly hold another, larger, follow-on RTC event at some time in the future.
