According to an MSNBC report I just heard on TV, the gunman died from his wounds.

One of the Federal Marshalls also has died.

The shooter has not been identified yet, and no motive is known at this time...

LasVegasNow.com is reporting that it was a Federal Court Security Guard that was killed and a Deputy Federal Marshal in critical condition.

Check this out, video of it live already on Youtube. You can hear the gun shots, and there are LOTS of gun shots.

I don't quite like this person's commentary in the video:

You should also be able to see a link to live video of the situation on the main site: http://www.lasvegasnow.com

Lots of other video there, including an FBI news conference, layouts of the lobby where the shooting apparently took place.

    Crazy, crazy, crazy...

    EDIT:

Just saw a memorial motorcade on the live video feed. I'd like send my heart out to the fallen guard's family, an ex-LV metro police officer and the injured Marshal and his video, I hope he makes it through the ordeal.

And thanks Doug for catching and posting this.

This is actually evidence of why they should do away with courts as being "no gun zones" because thats obviously a lie. What if Johnny Shotgun here killed those two marshalls (and the other LEOs)...he would have carte blanche to massacre all the unarmed Nevadans there. Hell, maybe if there were armed citizens there that marshall would still be alive.

Of course im just preaching to the choir here...but maybe someone will stumble upon it searching google and take the thought to heart.

Serious amount of gunfire... Sounded like a firefight. The media can't seem to get the story straight yet.

Las Vegas Courthouse Shootout: Two Killed in Federal Building Gun Fight
Two federal agents were wounded - one fatally - by gunfire Monday morning when a man walked into the federal courthouse building in downtown Las Vegas carrying a shotgun and opened fire.

The gunman was shot in the head and killed after he fled the building, according to a report in the New York Daily News.
    As the Daily News says:
A federal court security officer was killed and a U.S. Marshal wounded Monday when a gunman sprayed bullets inside the lobby of a courthouse in downtown Las Vegas.

The man fled across the street in a hail of return gunfire. He was shot in the head and killed.
Well, wait a minute. Was it a gun or was it a shotgun? And how exactly does one walk into a Federal Building carrying any kind of gun?

Brian Nichols from Atlanta was another perfect reason in 2005.
