Just got back from Vegas. Shopping at two malls on the strip, eating just east of the strip at several restaurants, gas stations, etc.... nobody said a word. Holstered glock 17 with intentionally contrasting color shirts and jeans so nobody can miss my pistol.... still nobody said anything. Awesome experience for the 5 days I was there...the way it should be...

There are a lot of undercover cops, bounty hunters, private security out here. Unless you look like you're uncomfortable, then most people don't care. Most the people who have problems are anxious and don't realize it.

You're so right... and it should be like that... you have to be comfortable knowing the law is on your side and you can carry and handle your gun properly... Just wanted to post my positive experience again since there were some bad stories posted here before and I never encountered anything like that despite open carrying on my last four trips over the last two years (since I don't need a blue card anymore). Will beback for the ACM awards at MGM and will be open carrying everywhere except the strip casinos... don't have a concealed permit valid in Nevada....

Glad to hear of your positive experience. I think you could have had some heartburn if the cops had stopped you for some reason after your third day there, 'cause last I heard, you have to register your firearm with the metro police if you're there more than 72 hours. Maybe some local can comment on this.

That got changed to 60 days for visitors back in 2007. That used to be the case, though. Residents still have to register within 72 hours.
