I wonder how many people know who Cloward and Piven are and what they espoused? Their strategies are in use with the current administration and their ends are on the horizon. Should it come to pass, the states should exercise their most basic of rights and remove themselves from the union. If they don't the country will be lost.

To one of the "town halls" back in August where a gang of punks from the Service Employees International Union showed up with bats and sticks and beat up a guy selling anti-Democrat stickers and buttons. The Nation article is critical of people OCing outside these town halls because they claim it is "chilling" and "intimidating" when what it is is self-defense.

Everyone needs to maintain a level of civility and attempt to dispel ignorance.

Beating a person or escalating a confrontation to a physical manner in anyway just isn't smart and I've seen this across the board and for as long as I have been able to comprehend politics and social issues.

Sure, people have disagreements, but the purpose of the Republic is to change it, reform it, or maintain it through the system not with unnecessary aggression and I'm sure you all know what I mean by unnecessary aggression.

I have read some very interesting things in the last 9 years about how the Left thinks they can use Islamic fundamentilism to help destroy the West enough for them to take over, whereupon they think they will be able to take out the Islamists. This is somewhat similar to the mistake Hitler made by making and then violating the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact, using the Soviets to aid in taking over Poland and then turning on them later.

Look at Ubama kowtowing to nations that describe themselves as "islamic". And these nations mean it; people who dare call America a "Christian nation" are all but publicly stoned, never mind that America is full of also synagogues, mosques, Bhuddist and Hindu temples, Hare Krishna ashrams, even the so-called "Church of Satan" is tolerated here. In contrast if a nation calls itself "Islamic" they damned well mean it, as you will find out if you so much as carry a Christian Bible there.

The good news is that the Soviets tore the Nazis a new one - with our indespensable help - but the bad news is that half the globe was enslaved under the logical end product of socialism for more than half a century, and again it was only America that provided the aid to stem the red tide and roll it back.

(Just a side note: Most of the American left was A-OK with Hitler until he attacked Stalin, upon which he bacame in their eyes a no-good SOB.)

I avoid all these rags. There's just no sense reading something you know is complete bull$h!t as far as I'm concerned. Wether it's TV "news", or the local birdcage liner, youcan bet there's %1 factual information and %99 fertilizer. It's a lot easier to scan online news articles and listen to local talk shows or the national ones if you're into them. I learned everything I ever needed to know about "The Nation" when around 1988 they ran an article "debunking" Stalin's artificial famine in the Ukraine. Ever since, I've put them in the same category as Holocaust deniers.
