Anyone have any pro or con on this revolver? I have read everything on the net. Interested on what this board thinks about this firearm.

    Thanks

I have one, a 6" stainless. If I were to buy another it would be with the shorter barrtel. As far as shooting, very comfortable reasonably accurate considering the "jump" the 45 cal slug has to make from the cylinder to the forcing cone. The 410 shot best with #4 shot. Slugs shaved lead out the side on the early ones but that has been corrected with current production. Would I buy another....... Yes. The biggest problem with mine is I need a cross draw or thigh holster. it is Toooo long.

I had the short barrel one and all i can say is HELL YA, great night stand gun as i can shoot slugs 45LC buckshot just about anything and its very easy to use for target accuition.

If the size of the gun dosnt scare the person off the ammo u send through the end of it will make sure they dont leave without a body bag escort :celebrate

I had an urge when they first came out, but got over it. I am not a big revolver guy and honestly couldn't come up with a use for a .410 handgun.

For SD use, I'd stick with the .45LC ammo. If I wanted a .45LC and I wasn't going to use .410, I'd find something else. The length of the cylinder just throws of the aesthetic appeal for me.

i think a judge looks kool.. but shooting a 45 LC outa that seems like a waste of time.... cant the trigger dr or someonecome up with a 45 x 55 or so catridge that would make a non resversible,,,cant argue self, defence load for it?

The initially hadconsidered chambering it in 44 Special, but reaized the 410 would not chamber and that it could be modified to take 44 mag or 444 Marlin....

I have the Matte SS 2 1/2" chamberwith a 3" barrel and it is great! The first 3 rounds are 000 shot (each has 3 balls in it to spread out and have a better chance of hitting target) and the last 2 are Corbon DPX. Great bedside/door greeter tool!

When I'm not OCing my 3" Judge, it resides in a holster on the right side of the drivers seat. First two 0-0-0 buck; last 3 are Hornady 225 gr FTX. Car hijackers are not welcome.

Read the box o truth on the judge. Not a great choice for self defense. Many more appropriate and more efficient options out there. It is a novelty gun.

I want the "Public Defender" version. It has a little smaller grip and shorter barrel.

Well I bought one this past Sunday. I live a sheltered lifeI guess had never came across one before, but saw it in Guns & Ammo. After checking it out on the web I knew I had to have one. Bought the SS /3inch/ 2.5. I handled the Defender Model but opted for the heavier model to help counter the recoil.

Ihave plenty of good carry guns, butI have always wanted something to snuff those grouseI come across on my many hunting trips. And the odd snake.

I got a few with the 9mm last year but you have to be careful not to hit them straight on. The judge will fill the bill. And it feels super good under my pillow.

Plus it is just plain cool.

My only impression, was that it was the answer to a question that was never asked. They are too large for realistic use as a CCW piece, and I just personally feel better when I have more than five rounds on tap for a defensive piece.

Would be fun to play with in a pumpkin patch the day after Halloween, though.

I hear the Judge is starting to sell more to the Home Defense crowd.

Personally, I would just buy a Maverick 88 and put 00 buck in it.

Some of the folks like it for defense because they view it less apt to go through walls and injure the people next door. Using the shot loads.

If you have to defend yourself, you figure there will be more than 5, or just a bad shot?

Judging by the reviews, using shot loads also makes it less apt to go through the people you are shooting at and injuring them as well...

Well load 3 shot shells and 2 45 LC for the close in work. Empty them all in to them. If they are still standing you need a bigger gun.

If it comes to pulling the trigger, I'd prefer to have the matter finished with the fewest possible tries instead of gradually working my way up to getting their attention.

    "Stop!" BANG
    "Don't do that!" BANG
    "Please Stop!" BANG
    "I really mean it!" BANG
    "I'm serious now!" BANG

    VS.

    "Stop!" BANG BANG

If I had one, when it was serving SD duty, all the holes would be filled with .45LC.

I don't subscribe to that type of logic. Do you only carry when you're going to be in a "bad" neighborhood? Only put 2 gallons of fuel in your 25mpg vehicle when you need to drive 50 miles?Buy milk onecereal-bowl-worth at a time?

I don't know what kind of a situation I would be in when it comes time to actually have to use my weapon, but for the size and weight of the Judge, I can carry a fully-loaded GLOCK or SigAND a spare mag. I can get quicker follow-up shots, and not have to count my shots, in fear of running out right away.

As a plinker or range toy, I think the Judge would be a nice option, but for serious self-defense, my personal opinion is that there are much better options.

If you think that one shot is going to take someone down you are probably wrong. There was a case not to long ago, where a guy got shot 19 times before he went down, and he wasn't doped up.

For home defense, I have a 9mm with a 10 round magazine, with another 10 rounder, and two 8 rounders for reloads if necessary. I also have the ammo box with 1,000 rounds right next to the bed if the zombies keep coming through the door (it also keeps my new puppy from getting behind the bed to poop.)
