Not only does the state of Illinois (ILL-Annoy) prohibit most any way of carrying a firearm, you should see the crap someone needs to abide by just to get permission to own a firearm, ammunition, ot reloading supplies.

They have their FOID card system, and that pretty much bans someone without that card from even entering most gun shops or eventouching a gun on display
(Most gun shops ask to see a foid card the second you approach the counter)

Look at the UP of your own state, Almost everyone owns at least 1 firearm, but my guess is that the violentcrime rates are most likely the lowest for the entire state of MI
