If he were really a "gun luvving" attorney, he'd be working on having the courts or legislature to clarify the definition of open carry, problem solved for OC'ers.
Ok. We get it. Your sentiments have been made known. He was nice enough to alert us to some legislation that would benefit Mississippi residents who want a carry option in parks and churches. He did youno wrong in posting his topic. He isn't an elected official. He owesus nothing.

Here is a suggestion. You want to complain about attorneys? Start another thread and complain about attorneys. Berating one attorney here serves no usefulpurpose.

Good news. The two bills mentioned at the start of this thread have died in committee but a third bill (SB2153) has passed the Senate and is now in committee in the House. The bill removes the prohibition against carrying in public parks and changes language that prohobited carry in Churches and houses of worship. In a nut shell it treats all private property the same and gives whoever owns/controls the property the right to set the policy and requires appropriate signage if the right to carry is denied. It doesn't fix the wacky case law issue that prohibits unlicensed open carry but at least it doesn't diarm law abiding citizens in the parks and gets the government out of setting policy for churches.

Looks like JUD B Chairman Willie Bailey is going to let this bill die in his committee - too many little dictators in the House all serving Billy McCoy's interests. Can you say "cattlegate"?

HB0298 survived amended to incorporate the code changes of SB2153. We need to stay on top of this one.
