Firearms Policy at the SHOT Show
A new facility for the show warrants an explanation of firearms carry and storage
This year, for the first time, the SHOT Show is in a mixed-use facility as opposed to a stand-alone convention center. It is attached to areas that contain casinos and some of the most fabulous restaurants in the world. In view of this, we want to make sure for your convenience that you understand the rules and know about the convenient storage locations we have at the SHOT Show.
The Venetian Hotel Casino and Palazzo Resort Hotel Casinos are private property, and the possession or display of firearms is prohibited except in approved locations. Persons other than on-duty law enforcement officers are not allowed to possess firearms while on private property. If a firearm is being transported through the hotel or casino to one of the approved and designated storage locations or to an approved exhibition location, the firearms must be unloaded, firing pin removed and secured in a locked case or container. Firearms may not be stored on property (including hotel suites) prior to or at the conclusion of the show except in approved and designated storage locations for the SHOT Show.
Secured storage will be located in the SHOT Show Command Post in Sands Level 1 Meeting Room 301, open, for your convenience, 24 hours a day beginning on Jan. 13 at 7 a.m.
You are welcome to check your locked gun cases at no charge. This secured storage room will remain open 24 hours a day through the event. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our security office at 702-691-8522.
Satellite locations also offering secured storage around the clock, and their opening days, are as follows:
Level 1:
End of 300 Aisle (opens on Jan. 17 at 7 a.m.)
Level 2:
Hall A, end of 10,000 Aisle (opens on Jan. 13 at 7 a.m.)
Hall D, front of 16,000 Aisle (opens on Jan. 16 at 7 a.m.)
Bassano 2801-2802 (opens on Jan. 17 at 7 a.m.)
