It is Martin Luther King Day, as most of you know. Great guy. But one quote struck me today, and I thought I'd share it.

"One has a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws". - Martin Luther King

Just to remind all of us that sometimes, to do what is inherently right, we may have to go against the grain, and challenge the system.

Hope everyone had a great day... I know the ones who had the day off did.
"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself." -John Stuart Mill

I dont know about going against unjust laws, how about being law abiding and change them. A law is a law. IMO.
If you voted for Obama to prove you are not a racist...
what will you do now to prove you are not stupid?

So not being able to walk in the Seattle park with a handgun that is protected by the State Constitution bothers you?

If I lived there yes it would bother me. No sorry, I dont live there and yes it bothers me. It bothers me seeing the clip on another thread where the snohomish county council voted down abolishing the park gun ban there, after state pre emption had been cited. But that does not mean I will go carry in a park to prove my point, If I lived in there I would show up to the meetings, get petitions, and find out what is will take to overturn thier commitee vote. Question is, is the gun ban a law? if you are asked to leave and do not is it not Criminal tresspass they get you on, not illegal carry? I will not break my morals and convictions and knowingly break a law, unless it is a life or death situation, and there is no alternative.

If it has been repealed and / or preempted, it is NOT a law.

Yep if I was in Seattle I would have already excercised my legal method of carrying in a Seattle park.

Martin Luther King's quote is applicable in many other situations, the problem is that the majority of the population has become apathetic. He had the support of large numbers of people. Who would protest and gather in unity. Hmmmmm, sounds good to me too.
I am not anti Cop I am just pro Citizen.

    U.S. v. Minker, 350 US 179, at page 187
"Because of what appears to be a lawful command on the surface, many citizens, because
of their respect for what only appears to be a law, are cunningly coerced into waiving their
    rights, due to ignorance." (Paraphrased)
