Well I posted a scope I was selling for an AK-47 on Craigslist last night, just a SCOPE, not an AK-47. Woke up this morning to a email saying "your post has been flagged and removed". Apparently you can't even sell firearm related items on Craigslist.

They are probably afraid it would be used to kill someone...But I'm sure I could buy a chainsaw on there without any problems!

They're probably just afraid of getting sued. Lawyers chill all this stuff

Even if CL is really just an anti outfit, it's theirs to run the way they want. (And you can feel very justified in demanding a refund on your listing fee.)

Why not try a gun sale list, TV?

Well if that's the casethe next time I get hurt by something I'm going to do some research on that item and find out if it was acquired through Craigslist. I'll be rolling in the "dough". Which would suit me properly! ;)

When I first started looking at Craigslist about 3-4 years ago, gun listings were not uncommon. I bought a very nice S&W 1066 that I found there. Got me started on 10mm that one did...

I wish CL would list guns/accessories too. Sometimes people sneak ads in to CL that pass scrutiny for awhile.

Don't get hurt too bad, TV. MOC and the Michigan guys need you...

Just list it as an 'optical device' that fits one of them black guns. Don't have to give the manufactures name, just say one of the better ones. Be creative. Later, Bob

The flagging is done by the craigslist nazi's, there are people who have no lives that sit on craigslist all day just to flag things they don't like. We have posted our puppies at least 50 times now due to flagger's..

Why it is against T.O.S to post gun's is unclear to me as they never answered my email asking them.

Did you demand your listing fees back?

Nah. Both are prohibited.

See the partial list of prohibited items a few posts above this one.

I believe Craigslist originated in San Francisco...what can you expect really?

http://www.craigslist.org/about/craig_newmark

A web-oriented software engineer by training, with 30 years of IT experience at companies such as IBM and Bank of America, Craig now spends his days working as a customer service rep at craigslist.

In 1995 while Craig was working at Schwab, he started craigslist as an email list for friends and co-workers about events going on in the San Francisco Bay Area. In 1999, Craig retired from IT consulting to work full-time on craigslist. What started as a fun side project in Craig's living room has since grown into one of the busiest sites on the internet, helping people with basic day-to-day needs such as finding a job, an apartment and a date, all within a culture of trust.

Craig continues to embrace his inner nerd though he no longer wears thick black glasses that are held together with tape, and he retired the plastic pocket protector some years ago.

Craig is involved with a variety of community efforts and is particularly interested in organizations promoting public diplomacy, mideast peace and new forms of media such as participatory journalism. He's on the boards of Sunlight Foundation, OneVoice, FactCheckED, and VotoLatino.

Craig graduated from Case Western University.
