So much as I support Open Carry, with the Norva getting as packed as it does, and people getting as drunk as they do there... I might have to say this is one of the FEW places that I wouldn't want to OC.

I've seen many shows there, and when people are THAT close, it just begs for something to get ripped from a holster, and trouble to follow shortly after.

I have been both a party to and a receiver of numerous altercations and extrications in this venue and I have to say I'd much prefer to conceal.

But it is posted, private property.

So was Alrosa Villa. Where Dime was killed.

Alrosa Villa's in a state where no form of carry is legal where alcohol is sold for on-site consumption. It's my home state (Ohio) so I got a bit familiar with the laws. Of course that area is one where a person really should not be without a gun or some other good tool for self defense. It's not an area I'd like to be in during the day, let alone inebriated at night.

That's kind of my point. The legality of it didn't stop a crazed lunatic from opening fire on a personal hero, his friends and fans.

Thank God for James Niggemeyer... while unable to save the lives of Nathan Bray, Erin Halk, Jeff "Mayhem" Thompson and Darrell Lance "Dimebag" Abbott, he did interfere with the murderer's intent to take many more lives that night.

Believe me, the point that the law isno deterrent for criminals is not lost on many Ohioans. Hopefully they'll rectify the situation this legislative year.

I had just moved to Arizona when that shooting you mentioned took place, so it sticks in my mind having heard about it on the national news front as opposed to just another crime being reported by the home town news stations.
