gun safe???

im in desperate need of a gun safe. im starting to accumulate a lot of rifles and i do not own a gun safe. ive been putting all my long guns at my neighbors house. anyone got anything in the $500 or less range?? i need one thats doj approved so i dont have to buy trigger locks for everything. i hate having all these extra keys!!!!

And do yourself a favor and purchase one that's 50% larger than you feel you need right now. You'll start stuffing important documents, collectibles, etc., into there and before you know it you'll be saying "damn, I wish I bought a bigger safe!"

Yeah, and keep the wife out or you will need to get one 200% larger than you think you need. She will find all kinds of family treasures to stuff in there. Save youself the grief and get one for her.

Don't give her your combo!!!!!:D

Home Depot sells a decent one for around your price. Not fireproof, and would yield with a determined attack, but 100X better than guns sitting in a closet.

Bought two so far for the kids' guns.

Are you refering to a gun cabinet, or a gun safe?

i really want a safe. so i dont have to use space in my neighbors safe and so i dont have to buy a lame $10 trigger lock for everything i buy. ive been scanning calguns and craigslist San Diego. costco has a 24 long gun safe for 500 but id rather help someone out who needs to sell one for a little bit less

Costco has a rather nice Winchester model for 499. Electric combo, firesafe for 45min @ 1400^F, 24 gun capacity.

Also the safe storage laws don't require doj cert. The doj cert is only required to sell as a gun safe.
