According to FOX News, (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,583912,00.html) the individual arrested in New Jersey (he was from VA, thats why I posted it here) was carrying "a semiautomatic Bushmaster rifle concealed under his green, military-style jacket"and "the .223-caliber assault rifle that Woodson was carrying had a defaced serial number and had been altered to fire .50-caliber ammunition."

Will a 50cal round fit up the receiver? and what about the ejection port? or is there a .50 cal conversion upper you can purchase for this firearm?

The UltraMag 50 receiver will convert an AR-15 to shoot .50 bmg.

Yeah with .50 Beowulf you only have to swap the upper. I just learned that on another forum.

I predict many more threats like this from our homegrown (or prison-grown) Muslim population.

They have had the .50cal conversions out for a few years now. Not that hard to change out if you know how to disassemble the AR platform. BUT... concealing it under a "military style jacket"... that is one big F-in jacket!!!

With all that they found, I am real suprised they didn'tstick him with a terrorism charge... since if you bringnailclippers onboard a plane you are a terrorist! LOL!

The fact that they make a point of saying "Semiautomatic" Bushmaster tells us that it was not a .50BMG upper since they are single-shot bolt rifles instead of a mag-fed semi-auto (.50 Beowulf).

The average non-gun person will not know that and will think that it is one of those much-talked-about-by-antis .50 BMG terrorist rifles that can shoot down space shuttles.

Have Muslims done it before this case?

There are nutjobs of all religions, but to answer your question, yes. Ft. Hood, the recruiting center in Arkansas, etc.

Could have been a BMG, but I doubt it. I built one once for BMG but it was a tip up screw bolt single shot. I anyone that shoots one without a sandbag on their shoulder.

Take a look at the T-2. Here is an intersting upper for an AR - comes in 50 BMG, 416 Barrett, and 338 Lapua. Definitely not semi-auto (bolt) and not concealable. I am contemplating getting one, but it hasn't made it to the top of my list. Disappointing accuracy in comparison to a dedicated rifle.

I think nail clippers and personal grooming items are no longer banned on commercial flights.

You can even have scissors that have blades shorter then 4 inches in your carry on.

Knitting needles...
