BREAKING NEWS!

This from: ICarry.Org

Update by admin: Woodman's has reviewed any alleged policy and has opted to take the high road and not discriminate against the lawful behavior. Lawful open carry (WI) or container carry (IL) is fine. Follow the law and Woodmans has no problem with you.
________________

I have not yet been able to veryify this from Woodman's but the news does come from Shaun Karnish of ICarry.Org so at this early date I have 98% confidence that this is so.

Stay tuned for further updates as they come in. If in fact this is true, Woodman's has my dollar back with no hard feelings and I will continue to shop and recommend Woodman's as the fine grocery they are.

I would like to thank Mr. Woodman and Quint for rethinking policy and doing the right thing. Thank you all at Woodman's!!!

Quint Woodman: Well. . .ah. . .um . .how would you feel if somebody grabbed your gun and started shooting.

Not a single case has ever been documented of this happening.

Stopped by the east side (Milwaukee Street) Woodmans today. There are four customer entrances. I didn't see a "no weapons" notice posted at any entrance.

I carry in the LaCrosse/Onalaska Woodmans on a regular basis. I have had conversations with members of the management several times while armed. The only concern they had was that they thought it may be illegal because they have both a liquor store and a bank in the building. I explained the laws to them as I understand it, and we left it with the understanding that any legal issues were mine. I've never been asked to leave.
Not knowing first hand how the interaction went, I won't comment on it. I do know that when I talk to anyone in a public setting, being friendly and outgoing usually "disarms" their discomfort with a guy with a gun. The only time I've been asked to leave was at ValleyView mall in LaCrosse, Their written policy prohibits carry, but the security officer and I had a very nice conversation on my way out.

The conversation was cordial. The informed me that the bank and liqueur were in the building and that we would have to leave. When pressed about it, I too explained the law to them and assured them that I was responsible, they informed me that customers had taken exception to my carry. In kind of an indirect way. they said it was not up to them and if it were, they would have no problem. There was not anger or animosity, mainly shock and sadness that my wife had to be there for it.

As a matter of fact, the last time I was there, I had to interact with their returns dept., a mgr., and assistant mgr.

I to had carried several times there before without incident.
