Sounds like a South Park episode in there some where.
lol... More than you know.. Sad part, it was the truth... Wanted to be Air Force / Astronaut more than I cared to admit.. Was flying since 16, went to Space Camp / Space Academy for quite a few years and always ranked in the top 5 of the class.

Turned 18.. Shattered dreams lol..

I hope you don't take it personal but I see comedy in odd situations.
Sorry to hear your dreams shattered I do know what that is like and it sucks.

It's all good... My life is great, so I have no complaints nor regrets.. I make comedy as much as possible with my issues (all I have is a head twitch, no random swearing outburst... THANK GOD).. There is nothing I have not heard and laughed at in regards to me...

Some old tried and true tips for the job hunter:

Make finding a job your current job. Start early and put in an entire day, all week long until successful. Jobs won't find you lying on the couch.

A good haircut, some clean clothes, and a well thought out resume, even if all you are looking for is a job in a warehouse or as a janitor. You'll go closer to the head of the line than the "slobs" that wander through.

Be sincere in your desire to work for the place you are applying. If the potential employer feels you are just dropping off another "app" it will just go in the stack.

Be willing to accept a job that is available even if it isn't exactly what you were initially looking for. It just might surprise you and you'll like it. Heck, I like making money better than not.

Keep at the hunt and don't get discouraged.

As a person that used to hire people as part of his job, employers are always looking for people that will do a good job. Sometimes they have someone that they are just keeping until someone better comes along. You could well be that person.

Take a tip from one of the "Money Guru's" Dave Ramsey. Delivering Pizzas is always a way to earn some money until you find a better job.

Over the years (over 50 as a working person) I have had times of unemployment. By getting out an looking immediately I have been fortunate that none lasted more than a week or so without having "some work". Even when I had a job that was less than what I wanted it to be, I kept looking and also kept working. As a result I was able to finally retire with very few periods of unemployment, regardless of the economic times. Good times just means that finding a job might be easier. When times are like this it just means more work in finding something. The jobs are still out there.

Good Luck.

There with you, they didn't like an anxiety issue/scoliosis/tremor. Later in my life I learned about the color blind thing, so they really don't like me. The coast guard guy really didn't like that I didn't have an ssn card, birth cert, or that my high school diploma was "in the mail".

What did Hoover, Truman, and Eisenhower have in common?

Here is something that should be of great interest for you,
I didn't know of this until it was pointed out to me.

Back during The Great Depression, President Herbert Hoover ordered the
deportation of ALL illegal aliens in order to make jobs available to American
citizens that desperately needed that work.

Harry Truman deported over two million Illegal's after WWII to create jobs
for returning veterans.

And then again in 1954, President Dwight Eisenhower deported 13 million
Mexican Nationals! The program was called 'Operation Wetback'. It was
done so WWII and Korean Veterans would have a better chance at jobs.
It took 2 Years, but they deported them!

Now... if they could deport the illegal's back then - they could sure do it today?

lf you have doubts about the veracity of this information, enter Operation
Wetback into your favorite search engine and confirm it for yourself.

Reminder now: Don't forget to pay your taxes...,
12+ million Illegal Aliens are depending on you!

And that's just those in this country. Remember that Central American countries benefit to the tune of 24 Billion Dollars every year that is sent home from those working in this country. While some are legal immigrants, the bulk are not. The money sent away is a considerable amount of "Foreign Aid" and that's on top of what our Government sends too.

If half of that was stopped by sending the Illegal Immigrants back just think how much of it might make it into citizen's pockets. The money that is paid to workers that is spent in this country creats other jobs here. Money sent to Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, and other sources of illegal immigrants does nothing for OUR economy. We get screwed more than once on this deal.

In some ways the current economic downturn is a help. It has caused a lot of jobs for illegals to dry up and they have gone home on their own. Now if our government would just take advantage of lower construction costs brought about by the slump, and complete the border barriers (fence if you prefer) then we stand a chance of keeping some out when things get better.

Hey, aren't dreams wonderful?

Saw a deal on 20/20 where Mexicans were recieving welfare benefits and didnt even live here. They would come over once a month to get their check, cash it at a payday loan place, go next door get some liquor and go back to Mexico to live. Theres a fine how do you do. They said on 20/20 that we dont have the resources and money to pay to track the illegals, Dont we already pay a bunch of people that sit around doing nothing (welfare). How about making them work for the money they recieve. Better yet make welfare like unemployment, you get out of it what you put into it from working and it starts when your unemployment runs out.

Your forgetting that the illegals spend money in the US therefore creating jobs, what kills jobs is government intervention in the market place like recently a lot of businesses stopped hiring because they don't know if they'll be forced to pay for employees health care. I'd welcome a ton of immigrants. They would need housing, food, toys you name it and it would create a ton of jobs for you and me but that's just a dream, there's no way people could accept Mexicans in this climate or anyone not deemed a true "American".

The problem I have with "Illegals", who are here "Illegaly", is that they dont pay taxes and they collect welfare. Why dont they become American Citizens?

You have two families: " Joe Legal" and "Jose Illegal". Both families
consist of two parents, two children, and live in California .

Joe
Legal works in construction, has a Social Security Number and makes
$25.00 per hour with taxes deducted.

Jose Illegal also works in construction, has NO Social Security Number,
and gets paid $15.00 cash "under the table".

Ready? Now pay attention...

Joe Legal: $25.00 per hour x 40 hours = $1000.00 per week, or $52,000.00
per year. Now take 30% away for state and federal tax; Joe Legal now has
$31,231.00.

Jose Illegal: $15.00 per hour x 40 hours = $600.00 per week, or
$31,200.00 per year. Jose Illegal pays no taxes. Jose Illegal now has
$31,200.00.

Joe Legal pays medical and dental insurance with limited coverage for
his family at $600.00 per month, or $7,200.00 per year. Joe Legal now
has $24,031.00.

Jose Illegal has full medical and dental coverage through the state and
local clinics at a cost of $0.00 per year. Jose Illegal still has
$31,200.00.

Joe Legal makes too much money and is not eligible for food stamps or
welfare. Joe Legal pays $500.00 per month for food, or $6,000.00 per
year.. Joe Legal now has $18,031.00.

Jose Illegal has no documented income and is eligible for food stamps
and welfare. Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00.

Joe Legal pays rent of $1,200.00 per month, or $14,400.00 per year. Joe
Legal now has $9,631.00.

Jose Illegal receives a $500.00 per month federal rent subsidy. Jose
Illegal pays out that $500.00 per month, or $6,000.00 per year. Jose Illegal
still has $ 31,200.00.

Joe Legal pays $200.00 per month, or $2,400.00 for insurance. Joe Legal
now has $7,231.00.

Jose Illegal says, "We don't need no stinkin' insurance!" and still has
$31,200.00.

Joe Legal has to make his $7,231.00 stretch to pay utilities, gasoline, etc.

Jose Illegal has to make his $31,200.00 stretch to pay utilities,
gasoline, and what he sends out of the country every month.

Joe Legal now works overtime on Saturdays or gets a part time job after
work.

Jose Illegal has nights and weekends off to enjoy with his family.

Joe Legal'sandJose Illegal'schildren both attend the same school.Joe
Legalpays for his children's lunches whileJose Illegal'schildren get
a government sponsored lunch
. Jose Illegal's
children have an after
school ESL program.
Joe Legal's
children go home.

Joe LegalandJose Illegal
both enjoy the same police and fire services,
but
Joepaid for them andJose
did not pay.

Do you get it, now?

If you vote for or support any politician that supports illegal aliens...
You are part of the problem!

The solution is simple: build the border fence, patrol it with rednecks and dogs so it's not worth it for people to try to get through. Step up efforts to deport illegals already here.

Now, before you start typing a reply in furious anger, let me finish. Give illegals already here a way to become legal to avoid deportation. Streamline the naturalization process so that anyone who wants to come into the country can do so without years and years of hassle.

America has always benefited from large numbers of immigrants - who do you think we're descended from? Do you think people would be as likely to hate us as a country if they could just as easily live here? Do you think so many Mexicans would be eager to come here if they knew they'd have to pay taxes and not necessarily get welfare?

I say end the welfare state and get rid of the income tax allow in whoever wants to come here. I think the police state will take care of this as we lose more and more freedoms people won't want to come here for a better life.

Exactly, I do agree.

Texas Hospitals are advertising free births for Illegals, so their infants can be born US citizens and the Mother and Father can not be deported because their child is born US.

I love the quotes from Theodore Roosevelt, IMO One of the best.

Theodore Roosevelt:

A vote is like a rifle; its usefulness depends upon the character of the user.

Theodore Roosevelt on Immigrants and being an AMERICAN

"In the first place we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the man's becoming in very fact an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag, and this excludes the red flag, which symbolizes all wars against liberty and civilization, just as much as it excludes any foreign flag of a nation to which we are hostile...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."
