This is a FANTASTIC bill. We need to steal your text and propose these same changes here in NC. Currently, we also have a ban on sale, transport, and carry of firearms during a declared state of emergency. I've always thought it is STUPID to prohibit law-abiding citizens to defend themselves when they are off their own property during an emergency...

I mean, what if there is a big hurricane, and all hell breaks loose, and I need to go to the grocery store, or the pharmacy, or the hardware store for supplies? I can't legally carry? That is completely bogus, and laws like this (in WV, NC and MANY other states) are an affront to civil order and personal human rights.

Good luck getting this bill passed. IF you do pass it, I'm going to do everything I can to try and get NCs statutes changed next session--we could use your changes as a precedent to support such a change in our laws...
