Why I Have a Gun
My old grandpa said to me, "Son, there comes a time in every man's
life when he stops bustin' knuckles and starts bustin' caps and
usually it's when he becomes too old to take an ass whoopin'."
I don't have a gun to kill people. I have a gun to keep from being
killed.
I don't have a gun to scare people. I have a gun because sometimes
this world can be a scary place.
I don't have a gun because I'm paranoid. I have a gun because there
are real threats in the world.
I don't have a gun because I'm evil. I have a gun because I have
lived long enough to see the evil in the world.
I don't have a gun because I hate the government. I have a gun
because I understand the limitations of government.
I don't have a gun because I'm angry. I have a gun so that I don't
have to spend the rest of my life hating myself for failing to be
prepared.
I don't have a gun because I want to shoot someone. I have a gun
because I want to die at a ripe old age in my bed, and not on a
sidewalk somewhere tomorrow afternoon.
I don't have a gun because I'm a cowboy. I have a gun because, when
I die and go to Heaven, I want to be a cowboy.
I don't have a gun to make me feel like a man. I have a gun because
men know how to take care of themselves and the ones they love.
I don't have a gun because I feel inadequate. I have a gun because
unarmed and facing three armed thugs, I am inadequate.
I don't have a gun because I love it. I have a gun because I love
life and the people who make it meaningful to me.
"Police Protection" is an oxymoron. Free citizens must protect
themselves. Police do not protect you from crime; they usually just
investigate the crime after it happens and then call someone in to
clean up the mess.
Personally, I carry a gun because I'm too young to die and too old
to take an ass whoopin'.
You just did.Sorry, I will not vote in this poll. The questions are flawed.
I carry to protect myself, my family first and foremost. I carry to be a deterrent to others. I carry to show that it is normal, that it is ok and there are more responsible gun owners than criminals. I would protect the life of someone else if it was in clear danger, but that is not why I carry.
Ahhh...ya got me! Well I didn't vote at the top!gogodawgs wrote:You just did.Sorry, I will not vote in this poll. The questions are flawed.

Discrimination. The media has these guys caring about their "image" too much. And if someone brings an AR, then they are apparently a "freak" and they will not have anything to do with someone exercising a right! :banghead:This is why those that say you don't need one there (at Obama rally) or Long Guns are inappropriate there (inside city limits) IMHO miss the point. I carry because I can and because a right unexercised is a right lost.

That was F'n beautifu l:exclaim:
...This tool I carry means a lot more to me than saying "I will protect myself." My family is mostly a certain shade of red that made it very hard to live through and become an American even though we were here first. Normalizing of firearms is something that was done by my family before I could remember. Every man in my family proudly served his country to protect our freedoms that have been slowly taken away from us in tiny bits. :cuss: It pisses me off that people here willingly give up their freedoms to bury their fat heads in the sand and believe they are safer with strict laws and unnecessary taxes... :X I work too damn hard and respect others too much to take any kind of crap from anybody who thinks I shouldn't have the right to protect myself! as I said earlier, wearing this tool says "I will protect myself" in a whole lot more ways than first glance shows.
My reason isn't up there.
I carry a gun because I am a free man.
Yea, no vote from me either.Sorry, I will not vote in this poll. The questions are flawed.

Hopefully, you will never have too.Everyone. If you're lucky enough to be near me, I'll fight to the death for you.
