I normally carry CC in a crossbreed supertuck holster IWB. I want to start OCing at times. If my hoster only shows the butt of the weapon, am I OCing? I don't want to start an issue with the local PD if I am partially concealed and partially OC. 1st post and vey cool website I might add.

Doesn't matter. If they want to say you are CCing, wave your CPL around. Personally I either fully CC, or fully OC. This half way stuff doesn't make much sense, and even looks sloppy or sneaky depending.

To me OC has the whole holster visible for a belt holster or a visible shoulder rig.

This concept has been discussed ad-nauseam in many other threads due to the explicit silence of the RCWs on the definition of "concealed".

Please take some time with the search function and take a look at what has already been discussed before.

The long and short of it is, if you have a CPL, it doesn't matter because there is no such thing as printing or "flashing" in Washington, just 9.41.270.

well when I am outside in the yard or in the street, I don't always have my cpl with me. I can OC without it but cannot CC without it.

Then carry it with the holster fully visible, or learn to carry your wallet in your pants or jacket...

If a portion is visible and it is possible for the "reasonable man" to see that it is a gun then how can any dumass claim that it is concealed??

There used to be an argument that even a gun in a holster was "concealed" because it wasn't totally visible. Just another "hillbilly cop argument" in order to "run someone in". Fortunately these "Barney Fife" types are far and few between. Maybe that's because of the educational requirements today for LEO's.
