Is there a way to find out by the serial number on a Springfield when it was made? I know Ruger, And Glock has that fancy little feature about them, But haven`t seen it for any other kinda firearms.

Some would say, grasshopper, their gun was born the first moment it entered the palm of their hand...

I have a Springfield XD45, and I'm stumped. How and where do I find my gun's born date. I field stripped it, and I see nothing that looks like a date. Just serial numbers.
Contact the manufacturer - they should be able to tell you by the serial number.
