As I was searching through the news, I noticed Paul Helmke's blog. The first 3 stories are about open carry.

The open carry movement seems to provide the bulk of his grief! Great job, guys! Keep up the activism. ;)

Grats to Utah! I'm sad to say that Wyoming got a score of 10. :(

However, Helmke, the lie pusher, is doing his usual;

"Wyoming has weak gun laws that help feed the illegal gun market and allow the sale of guns without background checks."

There ARE background checks here! I wonder if that sack 'o shit has ever told the truth in his entire, wretched, life.

I just read through North Carolina's scoring. My body literally had a shudder when I read the North Carolina press release and the Brady Campaign talks about how states can earn this number of points or that number of points simply by enacting laws to protect children OR stem the flow of illegal weapons, etc, etc. It is nerve racking, it is as if they're trying to sell gun control (which they are) and they offer "package deals" so they can get the state closer to the brady goals.

Brady Campaign..... Lameness is afoot...

AZ scored a 2!!!:celebrate

We would need to require college carry be allowed to be a 0.

Perhaps we can "improve" next year.

Good Job Utah.

Washington got a 17 damn. I think that will change now that our Supreme court here ruled that the 2A does apply to our state. YEAH!!!!!! Plus our gun laws are pretty free compared to many states. Texas can't even open carry, ours is a state preempted right.

I give D.C. an R better yet a N.C. 17. Damn wait what rating states no one should go there because it is outright offensive. It would be insulting to the porn industry to give it an X.

Come July 1st Virginia may drop from 17 to 12, or even as low as 10!

That still leaves a lot of work to achieve a perfect score, but we're trying hard every day to get there.

Congtatulations to Utah, and thanks for the inspiration.

stay safe.

"Kansas has weak gun laws that help feed the illegal gun market and allow the sale of guns without background checks. In the 2009 state scorecards released for all 50 states by the Brady Campaign, Kansas earns just seven points out of a total of 100.

“Since Kansas does not require Brady criminal background checks on all firearm sales, including those at gun shows, gun traffickers don’t need to leave the state to funnel illegal guns to felons and gang members," said Paul Helmke, President of the Brady Campaign."

Yee Haw,,,maybe we'll allow college campus carry soon (2 points) and then,,well I guess we'll have that 17 and under access deal ? WTF is this deal on "no background checks? At gunshows they phone em in just like at a gun store. BS Brady, you're all nutcases!:cuss::banghead::banghead::cuss:
No state preemption? For what? If you pass the background check for a CCW permit, they SHALL ISSUE :D But wayyyyyy to go Utah !!!:celebrate
Keep your powder dry!

I still think that state supreme court ruling was absolutely silly. Our state constitution already allows us the right to keep and bear arms in defense of ourselves or the state. It seems like a very redundant ruling to me at the state level.
