This happened yesterday. Read the story, and then scroll down and listen to the actual 911 audio tape.

Robber walks into a store, points a starter pistol at the 70 year old clerk, and demands money.

Clerk then pulls out his REAL gun, and tells the robber to get on the floor. Yelling ensues- the robber flees, and the clerk shoots out the rear tire, and the windows out of the car, ensuring that he doesn't hit the robber in the process.

In Michigan, it's illegal for a private citizen to shoot a fleeing felon (See People v. Couch, 436 Mich. 414, 461 N.W.2d 683 (1990) )

In this case, I cannot for the life of me see a local jury who would convict the clerk, however.

Here is the thread:

P.S. Suspect robber is now in jail. Thanks to a third person seeing it all go down, and following the fleeing robber while talking to 911, and giving officers directions to find the felon.

Worth reading.

Never fear. You can be certain the judge, and the system in general, will prevent the jury from knowing of their right to nullify the law he is charged with violating. The judges orders are usually something like:

"You will determine whether the law was broken, or not."

Which is a misinformation campaign, and a power grab. Judges who do this are tyrants. Juror members may IGNORE the judges request, and refuse to determine if a person is guilty, regardless of the facts.

The jury was meant to have this kind of power. If it were not needed, a judge would be all that is required in a court of law. The jury is the next to last check and balance in our system of government.

See The Fully Informed Jury Association ( http://www.FIJA.org ) for more information.
