Hello Mr., Day. I finally have a little time to respond to your E-Mail reply, so I'll keep this short an sweet as they say.
Your statement, we have too much Violent crime in this World, Well. In 2009 the number of homicides in the state of Vermont, where Citizens can practice Right-to-Carry without a permit, dropped to Four, the lowest number since 1965. Compare this figure to the number of homicides in places Such as Chicago, where law-abiding citizens are restricted from owning firearms for protection, an it's clear that gun control does nothing to reduce crime, but allowing residents the means to protect themselves with a firearm certainly does...
Your next comment, on the expansion from the original Second Amendment right and opens a whole world to people who can commit errors and wrongs against innocent citizens. OK, Lets try this one on for sizes.. The First draft of the Second Amendment by Mr. James Madison [ June 8, 1789 ] goes something like this. The Right of the people to keep and Bear arms shall not be Infringed, a well armed an well regulated Militia being the best Security of a Country but no person Religiously Scrupulous of bearing arms shall be compelled to render Military Service in person..

Now, On September 21.1789 the House voted to accept the changes to the Second Amendment and was entered to Read,a well regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and Bear arms shall not be Infringed. Mr. Day, the meaning of the words Bear, Infringed by Webster Dictionary still have the same definition todayas it did in 1789..

Now,this is just my Opinion, but maybe we should bring back that Old practices of a warm barrel of tar, a couple of bags of feathers an a good strong Rail. As for the Open Carry near a School issue [1000 Feet ] i'll have to get back to you on that, at this time..

Subject: gun laws

Gary

I do not support the open or concealed carry gun laws. We have too much violent crime in this world. The US Constitution gives us the right to bear arms, to protect our property and state. expansion from that original right opens a whole worldto people who cancommit errors and wrongs against innocent citizens. This is only my opinion and I very seldom get into open conversation on this topic because so many people have strong feelings both ways.

Also carrying a weapon open or concealed near a school within 1000 yards has my sopport. Children are precious and need all the protection we can give them. Their environment should be danger free.
Thank you for your questions

Tony Day
