Wisconsin Capitol Police are asking those who work in the state Capitol to be on alert for anyone carrying firearms openly on Monday.
The concern comes in the wake of posting on Facebook which mentions Monday as "National Gun Control Protest Day."
Signs posted at the entrances of the building say in all capital letters, "No Firearms Allowed." Another sign says that state law prohibits bringing firearms into public buildings, including the Capitol, and anyone who dies could face a fine of up to $1,000.
The Web site for the national protest does say if state law prohibits carrying guns in the Capitol, those laws should be followed.
A spokeswoman with the Wisconsin Department of Administration did not immediately reply to a message
